Happy New Year. 2014, here we go! ...to bring in the new year at Ellen & Hans' apartment! Mer came over to my place a little after 9pm, and we walked with the dogs over to the West Village... Later that night Mer came over to hang and snuggle Maddy sans socks. Smash them all together! Dog pile! Later that evening, I walked over to Hans & Ellen's in the East Village for a big holiday feast! Check out the table spread! Later that evening, Meredith came over for a Gruppo pizza night. Jalapeno & pineapple! Mmmmmm. Auto-timer class portrait before we all went our separate ways! Thanks for a lovely weekend, everyone! Hahaha. Back inside we were treated to bar dancing in a onesie! Even all the inhabitants of the Business Man's Shirt had to come outside to see what all the hub-bub was about. At one point, someone looked up at at the stitching pattern towards the top of the tent and noticed. "Hey, that looks like a shirt collar up there." Then, "Hey, Wait a minute, you guys..." Eventually, we made our way to the back of the property where they have a large teepee. After a few turns of playing, we figured out how to improve the game by adding a penalty... Always a quick way to "improve" any group game! After a few hours of warm-up , we graduated to a card game called Apples to Apples. FAM! Thanks for inviting us all out, Quinn! Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better... Said farewell to Josh, Jenny & baby Juliette.
...and carried it around like a baby. Haha. ...that's not shy about dancing at weddings. Oh, Table 7! Back inside I got back to the task of documenting all the pretty ladies... I got shots of everyone coming back... Meredith took a seat... ...on Kim's styling couch! Rubano is a hotel professional and went right to the frozen French bread pizza. Awww, yeah. Here we go! Slow dancing with public art! I'll post this version instead of the one where I'm "keeping my balance" by holding onto Kim's dreamy leg. Our group made a slight detour along the way to climb all over a giant ant. Babes. ...to cool off outside. And then later that evening, I practicing reiki on Mer. Post-treatment cuddles with Maddy. Mer came back to my place to hang out for a bit and worked on some freelance photo retouching. Matt had just gotten back in town for a few months on the road touring. Later that night, I had birthday drinks around the corner. Afterwards, I took her over to Magic Jewelry ( 238 Canal St # 108, New York, NY 10013) to get our aura photos taken! On Saturday afternoon I met up with Meredith in Chinatown for veggie dim sum! When you drink from the little tea cups there, it makes you look like a little piggy! Later that evening Meredith came over and let me practice reiki on her. Meredith spend the weekend hanging out with Maddy while I was away both days taking my class. Later that evening, I found she'd left me a cartoon on the fridge. "We grew as much as we could together and then, we grew apart." Awww, buddy! Buddies. On Saturday afternoon, Meredith came over to watch Maddy while I headed out of town for a night. After work, I played videogames with Davo and then Meredith came over for a hang! Congrats, Grant! Happy birthday, Caiti! Went out to Brooklyn with Grant to celebrate Sarah's birthday! Happy birthday, Sarah! Came home to find the dogsitter smashing the dog! I was sick for almost a whole week! By Sunday I was feeling better. Meredith came over to hang out and to see Maddy. Someone fell asleep while wearing their hand-hat! Happy birthday, Mer! After the opening sparkler salvo, a cake with a candle came out! Afterwards, I took a cab down to the West Village for a Mexican feast to celebrate Meredith's birthday. These are my friends. There are many like them, but these ones are mine. On Monday night a bunch of us met up to celebrate... ADULT STUFF! Very thankful that we were able to keep something so terrible relatively-lovely. At one point, Mer said to me "We had a pretty good run, buddy ." Mer came over on Wednesday afternoon so we could go through the 36-page draft of our divorce agreement that our mediator had drafted for us. Afterwards, we looked over at each other's recently-created OKCupid profiles and had a laugh. I spent Saturday traveling back to NYC after my awesome two-week trip to Belize . I arrived at my apartment to find Meredith waiting with... Later that evening, I headed over to Cynthia's for a fantastic... I walked all the way back home, dropped Maddy off, and then headed out to Katie & Siege's... Found this collage I gave to Meredith one year for her birthday. This is the kind of thing that's so hard for me to ever get rid of (even though we never hung it up when we were together).
