And then Gravy busted out some dice and we got caught up in a little LRC. Mer and me. Ty had already put so much work into the party! Later that evening, Gravy & Mouth arrived... On our way out of town, we spotted a big thrift store and stopped off to do some costume shopping for Ty's New Year's Eve party. Last year's theme was Great Gatsby ... Mer and I stopped off and got ourselves a nice light dinner. Halo view. No luck turtle spotting but we did get to see some other exciting... On Tuesday I convinced Mer to come out on a bike ride - maybe we'd get to see another turtle! Later that evening, Mer and I went for a swim and a hot tub. Mer showing off some stocking-stuffer loot. We went next door late night to hang out with Uncle Bruce and check out the new videogames he'd gotten for his Xbox Kinnect! Mom trying out the dancing game. Stopped at an IHOP for a quick bite on the drive up to my parents house. Meredith and I got up bright and early on Thursday and headed to the airport to fly down to Florida for the holidays. We'd be spending Christmas with my family in Stuart, FL and then renting a car and driving up to the panhandle to attend Ty's 3rd annual New Year's Eve party! Ellen & Meredith were nice to come along with me. I was feeling a little shy because it's weird to go to a holiday party when you're a consultant and don't really work at the place! FEATS OF STRENGTH! ...with these two! Happy October 2011! No dice! We ended up walking back to the East Village... A little after two am we gathered our crew... Mer & Grant. Dancefloor... Blueberry blintzes, blueberry muffins... ...sexy fireman for Halloween. Hahahah. They were playing Dark Side of the Moon & The Wizard of Oz together on the movie screen. After lunch we stopped at a bakery to... Low key start to our Sunday. ...and then headed out to dinner to celebrate his birthday! Back at the Silverman house, we gifted Chuck some tequila... Later that evening, we met up with Meredith's parents... Party crew! On Saturday afternoon we went over to The Boxcar... Make your own Bloody Mary fixins section! Ellen came over later that evening! We walked the dogs over to Sheen Brothers... You guys are great and all, BUT...any idea when my mom's coming back? Mandy, Mer and Gurj! Here we go! Next stop... In person, it felt like we were right on top of the Statue of Liberty. ...a whole different thing entirely to ride around UNDER it! We arrived in Sheepshead Bay a little after 1pm... Hold on tight! We went out to a late night Thai dinner and were entertained by Karen's Jane's Addiction stories! Later that evening, Matt and Ellen came over to welcome us back home! Yay! We took the hound for one last stroll down the boardwalk... Sunday was our last day out in Rockaway! Post-beach QT with the houndine. Beach was still pretty sweet, though. We headed over to the beach to survey the damage... As soon as we got back into town, we picked up our hound and then got on the subway to head back to our Rockaway Beach rental for a few more days.
