On Thursday morning we got up early to head into Manhattan... Meredith and Ellen went dollar store shopping and Mer got a shiny hat. Haha. On Wednesday afternoon, Ellen came out to visit and hit the beach! Sunset walk with the dog. YOU'RE THE KIND OF PERSON WHO ORDERS PASTA AT A DINER! Later that afternoon, I met Meredith at the restaurant called RESTAURANT around the corner from our place. Cake for breakfast is what's up. We took the pooch for a nice long beach walk... Meredith had a terrible bike accident when she was a little kid and never really got around to getting back on one so we decided to give it a shot! Get it! A little after noon, Meredith and I... Later that night, we watched a movie! Later that evening, everyone came back to our place for dinner and drinks! The couch seems like it was designed to camouflage Maddy! We hit the beach early on Saturday. Cat and Mer made... Later that night, we snuggled with Maddy on the couch and watched... ...and got the royal welcome from the weiner hound! We walked back to our place... It poured rain all day on Sunday and we were trapped inside! ...we asked them to take a group photo for us! Let's hear it for diner / bowling therapy! Mer came out and met me later that afternoon. ...but it was also REALLY windy. Look how much sand the wind was throwing! It felt like we were getting sand blasted... We arrived to find that the house was in less-better-than-promised condition. The scaffolding was still up, and the yard was piled with trash. But, hey! The roof doesn't leak and it's one block from the beach! Wooooo! Veggie burgers at Royale! A little later that afternoon, Pauly came out to see the place! Later that afternoon, Meredith's second-cousin Noah came over for a visit. Taking the hound to the park. On Friday Meredith took the three plastic piggy banks we'd filled up with coins to the bank to cash them in! Later that night, Jonah came over for a hang! Fistfulla ice cream sandwiches, yes! (I just finished listing the Chris Connelly / Saves the Day episode of Going Off Track and it's SO GOOD!) That heart stopping moment when you really hope you know what you're doing when you realize that living things you care about are actually going to be napping under the hundreds of pounds of books you've just hung on sheetrock. I met up with Meredith and she gave me... ...sliced up all sorts of melons in the kitchen! ...while Meredith... Cat came over to our place early on Sunday morning and dropped off Drese with Meredith! I bid farewell to these two... Summer lovelies! Later that evening Meredith came home showing off a new volunteering shirt. Beachjers. Beach hair! Around 5:30, we packed up and headed back to the subway. There! Perfect. Big fan of this one. Very post-modern. Somersaults and... ...sand dives! Peter Pan? Haha. CHICKEN FIGHT! When these two get rambunctious, look out! Babe sandwich. Cat arrived a little after 2pm!
