On Saturday morning Meredith came over with Major and she brought along matching Hawaiin shirts for the dogs to wear to the Washington Square Park Dachshund Meetup. (Maddy is always so bummed when I put her in any kind of costume.). "Dad, please take this off me."
Went north out of the city to visit Ellen and Hans at their new home for the first time! Congrats, you two! Meredith was there and was one day away from leaving for her trip to Myanmar to visit Jack.
Meredith had recently broken up with Dylan and our HEARTBREAK HOTEL agreement always stands so she came to stay on the couch for a few days and took turns holding the dogs until she felt better.
I got home in the evening and this one had no idea that I was out secretly shopping for rings all day! Tee hee hee! Here's Meredith with her friend's dog that we were dog sitting for! Her name is Tina!
Meredith's not much for "going out on a school-night," so I said farewell to her (and to Hector dressed up in his little Hulk-a-mania shirt) and headed out to hit the town all skulled up!
Animal FunTime Party House got even better when Leigh came by and dropped off Edie off with us! Look how excited Meredith is to have two little lap-weasels!
On Tuesday night, Meredith and I were coming home from dinner in Nolita and we passed David's apartment. We called for Lord Alred and he ran to the window to greet us. A couple of minutes later...
Every time Meredith would start to put her tube down and get in the water, Crookjaw would start furiously barking at her! He didn't want to be left alone!
Later that night, I woke Meredith (and Rocco!) up from their team nap and we packed up all of our stuff so that we'd be ready to head to the airport and catch our flight to Thailand! After we were finished packing, we headed out for dinner!
"Reading and relaxing" very quickly turned into "lapsing into a food coma" and we both woke up five hours later! Hahaha. Here's Meredith and Rocco waking up from their nap together!
Meredith stuck her tongue out to do an impression of Piper and right when I snapped the picture, Piper (who is a notorious face-licker) saw Meredith's tongue sticking out and WENT FOR IT! Hahaha. I love this photo soooo much.
Here's Meredith enjoying Piper's cornchip-scented ears. Mmmmmmm! Piper has the longest tongue in the world. When she closes her mouth, the tip of her tongue is always peeking out because it's too big to fit in her mouth!
Mom's home! Leigh came over to pick up Edie and she and Meredith modeled their matching shades. I love how Edie's sunglasses are sitting on her snout and her little doggy legs are just hanging down all slack. Hahaha. Best. Photo. Ever!
Later that night we tried to get Meredith to come out with us, but she had a bunch of homework to do for school. So she decided to stay out home with Piper the Laser-Eyed Chiuaua (who we were taking care of for Ellen).
Leigh lets Edie sleep in the bed and Edie made it pretty clear that she expected as much from us. Daschunds were bred so that they'd be able to chase animals into holes and they apparently still love to burrow. As soon as Edie saw that I was coming to bed...
