A little bit of bleed-over from the end of September! On Sunday night, Grant, Amanda & Mer came over to watch the finale of Breaking Bad followed by the premiere of Eastbound & Down.
I went to the dermatologist and in the waiting room they had a tv showing a promotion on loop advising me to get a GOLDEN FACIAL. That must cost extra, right?
After dinner, Sylie introduced me to Derren Brown via Youtube. (If you haven't heard of him, check him out. Apocalypse, in particular, where they trick a man into thinking a zombie apocalypse has actually happened, is B-A-N-A-N-A-S. I can't believe they do this shit on British TV. (And I don't understand why he's not super-famous in the USA yet?)
On Thursday afternoon, I was catching up on email and watching one of the final episodes of How I Met Your Mother, when suddenly, a familiar face appeared between two principles...
Wednesday was my first day back in NYC after my awesome trip to Red Rocks with Gurj & Quinn. Had an empty apartment and played a bunch of Borderlands 2.
Fast-forward two-and-a-half weeks later and we've just returned from our trip to the Philippines. Treated my jetlag with some serious Netflixing watching about UFOs and Nikola Tesla.
...we headed to the airport to catch a flight back to Manila. Spotted these two dudes on the way performing ADVANCED scooter moves. (Backwards, wearing flip-flops and holding a fucking 27" cathode-ray TV set! But don't worry, he's got a sorta-helmet on).
I first saw Alex's art when I came into NYC during my high school years when I somehow ended up wandering into the Psychedelic Solution Gallery in the early 90s. The documentary features a ton of his mindblowing art.
About an hour later while we were sitting in the airport waiting to board our flight, Bloomberg came on TV to announce the mandatory evacuation of where we'd been staying on Rockaway Beach. Doh!
I had to get up early the next morning to go back to the meditation hall, so I had a quiet night in watching a few episodes of the Ricky Gervais show...
Spent the afternoon watching Joseph Campbell lectures on Netflix (my favorite thing they've had on so har!). Theyr'e all gone now, but they used to have 3 lecture series of his! (Sukhavati, Mythos, The Hero's Journey)
After they got back later that evening, we watched Stefon SNL clips and gorged ourselves on COOKIES! (Peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss on top are my FAVORITE!)
