Check out my dad's old customized license plates! The first three letters are his initials. He claims "69" is because it's the year he graduated college, but as far as my female friends in high school were concerned, the plates were still "pretty creepy." Hahahah.
dad
By 1pm, we had the garage mostly cleaned out. Here's my dad surveying a driveway full of garge-sale-bound treasures.
dad
My dad picked me up at the train station and we went to the Ledgewood Mall to pick some things up. When we got to the mall, there was some sort of car show going on!
dad
Now with husbands, son (and a dog!) added!

Happy Father's Day, Big Bri!

Big Bri large and in-charge at the wheel!

...and the necktie he received from Aunt Sue. Which upon closer examination...
dad
After the cake had been doled out, it was time for presents. Check out my dad subtly flipping the bird because of all the "You're Old!" cards he got. Hahahah.
dad
Notable gift of the night included Uncle Wayne's sick "Superdude" jersey...
dad
Make a wish, Pappi!
dad
After we finished eating, it was time for cake and presents!
dad
Here's the birthday boy, my mom, Uncle Moose, and his girlfriend Elyse.
dad
A few weeks prior to my dad's birthday, I called him and asked him what he wanted for his birthday. When I'd been home for the holiday in December, I'd brought my Wii along and my loved the golf game...so he told me he wanted a Wii for his birthday! (This was back when Wiis were pretty much impossible to find, but I put a couple of extra to dollars to work on eBay and managed to get one for the birthday boy!). We set it up immediately and got our Wii golf on! Here's the birthday boy getting ready to tee off!
dad
The day after Christmas, we drove way down to south Jersey (by Philly) to have dinner with my dad's brother and his family. Here's my dad with his brother Bruce and Bruce's girlfriend Elyse.
dad
New golf shoes!
dad
Dad showing off a present!
dad
...and smoking! (My brother and my dad are twins!). We hung out for a few minutes laughing about how it was only a matter of time before...
dad
On Saturday afternoon, Meredith and I took the train out to my parents house in NJ so that we could spend Christmas with my fam! I brought along the Wii so that the whole family could play (which we ended up doing for hours on end). Here's my mom and brother getting ready to square off in tennis. But before they played, we decided that we all needed to...
dad
Here's my dad's Mii!
dad
On Saturday night my parents came into town for the day! After walking around and having lunch in our neighborhood, we went back to our apartment so my parents could try out our new Wii! My mom actually played a video game and liked it!
dad
After dessert, we played Cranium! Guys vs. Gals!
dad
My dad gave a speech and made a bunch of jokes about how tough they were on him when he first started dating their daughter. They were nicknamed Queen Ann & Cowboy Bill, so my dad busted out a little tiara for gram...
dad
Big Skipper "large and in charge" at the helm.
dad
Tuesday afternoon, my dad wanted to take us out for a ride on his boat. Here Big Skip guiding the boat out of the dock and heading towards the bay.
dad
Later that night we rented some movies and called it a night early. (I think we were in bed before midnight!)
dad
The next morning, we got up bright and early and drove down to my parent's little shore house in Beach Haven West. After dropping off our bags, we grabbed some towels and headed to the beach on Long Beach Island.
dad
On Sunday I took the train out to NJ to my Aunt and Uncle's house to spend some time with my family! I have no idea what the occasion was (Grandma's birthday? Memorial Day?), but whatever it was, here's a picture of my dad commemorating the day.
dad
After we had finished with all the presents, we...
dad
Now that my dad is retired and my mom is still working, she said it's only fair that HE should start cooking dinner a few times a week. She's been saying this for years and I think it's yet to happen. So for Christmas she got him a few of Rachael Ray's books to help him along.
dad
...my mom and dad. My mom kept hiding her face because it was really early in the morning and she didn't have any make up on and she told me that she "didn't want the Internets to see her this way." Hahaha.
dad
And here's my Dad with my Great Uncle Bob!
dad
On Friday morning, I had breakfast with the fam. And then it was time for my brother and I to give...
dad
He ran all the way to his seat, but then we all sat there for like 10 seconds with frozen smiles on our faces before realizing that the shutter wasn't going to fire. Here's Dad trying working on attempt #2.
dad
GO!
dad
The next day was Thanksgiving! My grandparents and my cousins, the Carricks, came up for family dinner at my parent's house. Here's my trying to set the auto-timer on his camera to take a photo of all of us at the dinner table. Every year he sets the timer, presses the shutter, then races all the way around the table and tries to make it to his seat and smile before the picture is taken. He almost NEVER makes it. (Check out Cousin Chad in the background laughing in anticipation of the race). Ok, ready dad?
dad
Look, my parents got new glamour shots taken! Awww!
dad
On Thursday night my parents came in to town and I took them out to dinner. I look like my mother almost as much as my dad looks like Peter Griffin (The Family Guy). Hahah.
dad
On Tuesday I met up with my brother, who was temporarily living in NYC for a few months while on a consulting gig, and our parents to go see The Producers on Broadway. It was AWESOME! (Thanks, Mom & Dad!).
dad
...this guy! Treat hound!
dad
This pic pretty much sums up how I spent the next two days. Passed out on the beach with a book on my lap.
dad
Uncle Tom and my Dad on the ferry back to the Jerz.
dad
On Tuesday night I took the train out to NJ to hang out with my parents and spend some time with my Aunt Barb (my mom's sister) and my Uncle Tom (my dad's college roommate!) who were in town visiting from New Mexico. On Wednesday we piled into the car and took a trip to...
dad
Big Skip at the cap'n's wheel while Elyse (my Uncle Bruce's girlfriend) chills on the back.
dad
On Sunday I took the train down to south Jersey to hang out with my family down at my parent's little shore house in Mannasqaun. Here's my brother and his lady Amy and my parents about to get their lunch on.
dad
Zoe getting a scratching from my dad.
dad
Something was wrong the can opener and my dad ended up having an epic battle against this can of cranberry sauce. Check my brother pointing at the mangled-ass shape the can was in when Pappi finally managed to get it open.
dad
Dad carving up the bird.
dad
On Sunday Meredith and I took the train out to my Aunt and Uncle's house in Jersey to celebrate Easter with my fam. Here's Gram and my dad getting the bird ready. (Sure, I know what you're thinking...it's a steep transition to go from my balls next to some poor drunk girl's face right to Grandma carving up some delicious turkey to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, but that's just how I roll.)
dad
...hitting golf balls out into the snow with my dad.
dad
The birthday boy with his cake!
dad
Because January was so cold I'd been wearing a rabbit-fur hat that had been giving to me by Jessica D. to help brave the Syracuse winters way back in '96. For whatever reason, I took pics of lots of people trying it on and making faces. More on that later.
dad
On Monday morning it snowed! Here's my dad shoveling the deck before taking Meredith and I to the train station. Merry Christmas!
dad
Here's the Xmas Dinner pic. Jordan, Jeanine, Pappi, My mom, Dave and Pat Litte and Mer and me.
dad
My dad cleverly improvised a tripod out of two collapsable TV-food trays.
dad
...while my dad carved and Mr. Little worked on carving the bird and the ham, respectively.
dad
After we were done opening presents, we had a contest to see who could turn the Christmas tree on from the greatest distance (the tree's hooked up to a clapper, remember?). Here's me celebrating my win all the way from across the room. My dad said my ability to clap the loudest probalby had something to do with my "callused palms." Whatever that means. hahaha.
dad
...all sorts of mulling spices to make ciders and wines!
dad
She hate it!
dad
Meredith got my parents some fancy French wines.
dad
Look at my parents getting all serious with their scratchers. Hahaha.
dad
And then it was time for the "Holiday Portraits" in front of the fireplace. Here's my mom and dad (how cute are they in their matching red shirts?)...
dad
My parents recently bought a new house down in Florida that's right on a golf course and since then my dad's pulling out all the stops trying to get my mom more involved in golf.
dad
...uh-oh! Look who got their very own monogrammed stocking over the chimney this year!
dad
Then it was time to open presents!
dad
On Friday morning, my dad and I hit the town to do some last minute Christmas shopping.
dad
On Thursday, Meredith and I took the train out to NJ to my parents. Then we hopped in their car and headed down to south Jersey to visit the Birds (they're my Great Uncle and Aunt). Here's me with my dad.
dad
I got up to help him out and was told that he didn't need any help "figuring out his own camera, Goddamnit!" So I took some photos of everyone waiting. Hahah.
dad
Before anyone can eat, it's a family tradition that my dad needs to take a group photo of the table. There's nothing better than watching him try to figure out the auto-timer on his camera. Every year, he'll think he's activated it and he'll start running around through the kitchen so he can make it back to his seat before a pic's taken - but there are always like three false alarms and he gets progressively angrier as he has to go back and try to get it to work (which makes us all laugh more, which in turn makes him even angrier).
dad
Look how serious my dad takes his carving responsibilities.
dad
Turkey time!
dad
Here are the fruits of his labor though. Well worth the wait!
dad
Back at the house, family members had begun arriving. My Dad and Uncle Way getting their TV on.
dad
Big Bri and Steph.
dad
On Monday (the day after my birthday) I went down to meet up with my parents and their little shorehouse near Long Beach Island in southern NJ. Here's my mom, brother, dad and Uncle Bruce chilling on the beach at LBI.
dad
After the ties were fixed, it was time for family photos out on the back deck. Here's Brett, Pappi, mom and me.
dad
Easy there, Dad. I don't want you getting up to any Risky Business. Ha!
dad
They can swing dance? Who knew?
dad
My parents at the reception anxiously awaiting the entrance of...
dad
Papi dishing out some loving.
dad
And who's this handsome disco couple? (Seriously, you haven't lived until you've seen my dad do his disco hand shuffle on the dance floor. It's what happiness is made of).
dad
I'm not sayin', I'm just saying.
dad
For Mother's Day I hopped the Linden EnJay Transit train to meet up with my parents at G-ma and G-pa's house. Happy Mother's Day! (PS - Sarah was so right on the money when she pointed out that my dad looks like Peter Griffin from the Family guy).
dad
Check out my blinging imitation Oakley Blades. You're wet, aren't you? (PS - Sarah pointed out that my dad looks like the dad from the Family Guy and I haven't been able to look at him without smiling since).
dad
Dinner with the other Battjers! The end!
dad
On Monday we drove down to South Jersey to visit with my dad's brother Uncle Bruce!
dad
Dad, Brett and Bruce. Right after this picture was taken, Bruce turned to me and said "Hey, you're not working right now are you?" Me, "Nope, I'm still looking for an interesting job. Why, you know of something?" Bruce: "Nope, but I just realized that I have to go on a business trip and I'm not going to be able to make it to Aruba to use my timeshare there and it's too late to cancel. Do you want a free week at a nice resort in Aruba?" Me: "Ummm, yeah." Bruce: "Cool, if you can find cheap tickets on short notice, it's all yours." And that's how I ended up in Aruba during the last ten days of January 2004.
dad
In almost matching outfits no less (again!)
dad
Hahaha. Saturday I stepped outside and caught the Bobsey Twins smoking.
dad
Dad with a doohickey.
dad
"Now throw your hands in the air and scream!"
dad
For Christmas day, my grandparents and one of my mom's sister's family (The Carricks) came to our house. Christmas dinner in the house y'all. When I say "Hey," you say "Ho!" Now when I say "Je" you say "sus!"
dad
Somebody on this site pointed out that my Dad looks just like Peter, the father from the cartoon "The Family Guy" and now I can't see a pic of him without thinking about how true that is.
dad
Holy red family photo, Batman.
dad
He really is cute though. Here he is jumping off a table onto my mom's lap.
dad
My fam hung back and worked at destroying the pie and cake table.
dad
Mom and dad getting their breffast on as well.
dad
Saturday morning I had breakfast with Mom and Pop...
dad
On the way back to my parent's house, we stopped off in Mendham to visit with Gary Variale and his family. Gary owns the construction company I used to work for during all my summer breaks and is like family. Here's my two dads. Hahaha.
dad
Turkey Time! Going Clockwise from the front left: G-ma, G-pa, Aunt Sue, me, Pappi, Mami, Chad, Uncle Wayne, Aunt Elaine and Lindsay.
