Later Thursday night, I met up with Emilie and we went to an awesome vegetarian Vietnamese place! By the time I landed, got to my hotel and checked in, I felt like I was coming down with a nasty cold. I ordered a room service pizza and plate of fries (only vegetarian items on the menu)... ...a table covered with all sorts of food (and more coming out by the minute)... The veggie special! Meredith made veggie pigs in blankets.... Holy Brown Snacks! Cookies, popcorn, potato chips, pretzels, almonds, MORE cookies AND cinnamon buns? Later Sunday night we went to Congee House for Alex's birthday. ...jaffles filled with all sorts of different delicious fillings (baked beans! peanut butter honey & banana! marinara and cheese!) On Friday night, Meredith and I had a spooky night at home enjoying some Curly's Vegetarian Lunch (mmmmm).... So I went back to my room and decided to go with room service. The only items on the menu without meat were the salad and mozzarella sticks! (Oh, and I also got a brownie with ice cream) Each one if filled with something different! Meredith made an awesome lunch. Breakfast burrito, veggie burger and black bean soup. I'll go with this, thanks. We were also there because Meredith parents were throwing us a big "congratulations on getting married" party (that was really just the wedding reception Meredith's mom didn't get to have because we got married somewhere else. (Remember when I made fun of Frank when his mom did the same thing?) ..served on one of the new tablecloths Meredith picked up in Bali... On Saturday we had a nice homemade meal... ...big bowls of hot noodle soup! After the show, we went across the street to a vegetarian restaurant! Later that night, we went to a really awesome vegetarian restaurant. ...and then had an awesome lunch at an Indian restaurant nearby. ...we headed out to an Italian restaurant that was nearby and had an awesome pasta & pizza dinner. Pad thai. Papaya salad. Awesome nasi goreng breakfast. Mmmmmmm! ...and I ate an entire plate of brown food from the buffet. Brownlicious! People in Bali are super-friendly and any time a local found out we were on our honeymoon they were so excited for us. It was really great. I got friend rice and a baked bean jaffle (pressed sandwich). We decided to order some food and look for a place to stay after eating. After getting our next destination all squared away, it was time to enjoy a breakfast feast! Haha. That night we ordered in room service and had an awesome late night dinner on our bungalow's porch. Late night dinner. Pizza and a veggie tofu curry. Why not make paradise better and get some hand-delivered snacks? Spring rolls, a salad, garlic bread and tropical fruity drinks! I got my nasi goreng on. (I LOVE RICE FOR BREAKFAST!) Fresh local fruit! Teeny tiny delicious pancakes. ...then at 9am, we went to check out the hotel's insane breakfast spread. My body was convinced it was time for breakfast and I got banana pancakes. Mer was feeling lunchtimey and got some lo mein. Late dinner. We got some food to go along with our champagne. Mer got veggie sushi... ...and I got a big old plate of airport-Chinese veggie lo mein. Mmmmm. Later that night, we went out to dinner with both of our parents. Taco-tastic. Later Friday evening we put this very fancy snack arrangement out because... Oh yes, we did. (The funny things about waiting two years until you post photos is that you're usually in a totally different place. We're getting ready to celebrate our two year anniversary and I can't believe hard were partying and how much shitty pizza we were eating! Haha) Later that afternoon we went to Alphabet Cafe (formerly known as DyNASTY!) for brunch. Their black-bean quesadilla is the jam. ...we ordered some delicious food at a nearby restaurant and ate outside and enjoyed the summer weather. After a nice relaxing post-beach shower and nap, Geordon and Leigh invited us to a party they were doing at the Tribecca Grand. Check out Geordon double-lapping (that's double-fisting for plates) with two plates of fish skewers. Hahah Which was the same place that me, Leigh and Meredith went for my birthday back in 2004 , the first year we all met! We took the A train to W 4th Street and then went to eat at Vegetarian Paradise 2. AND mini pizza bits. It's just how I do. We had dinner out on the back porch. Time to eat! Veggie burger! ...we headed inside to grab some food. Tater tots. Mmmm. Not sure what Amanda got exactly but it looked awesome too. Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich: scrambled eggs, melted cheddar, homemade tomato jam,with hash browns. OMG. We ordered up a Thai feast! Haha. So excited about mini pizza bagels. This makes me laugh so much. I never fuck with the buffet straight off the bat. You gotta start with a speed bump (salad). I tried to stick with the "brown and/or fried" theme I was cultivating. Mer got veggie sushi. There's like 10 stations like this. Veggie burger plate. Afternoon BBQ! Homemade pizza was delicious. Plus the waitress took this nice photo of us. Check out this jim jam! Black bean quesadilla with fries and mini salad. So tasty! Mer and I went to brunch at the reopened DY-NASTY restaurant and it's really really good. Grant, we should go there! Haha. So good. ...VEGETARIAN DIM SUM! Yes! Fried pancake balls with dunking syrup. OMG. I went for something light and sensible and ordered eggs, cheese and hashbrowns on a biscuit with a side of spicy fries. They had an awesome summer BBQ buffet. Soooo good. You know, just a nice light meal. Holy pile of fried appetizer. Black bean quesadilla and salad. Mmmm. I'm still not entirely sure how I made it through 2009 without contracting Type-2 diabetes. Check out the entertainment ammo. The movie The Game (Meredith had NEVER SEEN IT!), two pizzas, a pasta BREAD BOWL, 4 cupcakes and a packet of Reese's. I had macaroni and salad. And it was awesome. Check out the length of the curly fries! I ordered the Buffalo Blue Cheeseburger from Curly's Vegetarian Lunch. MY FAVORITE! Mmmmm. More Dominos and VH1. If you're going to consume shittiness, make sure you go the distance! Later that afternoon, we went to some place on Clinton Street for brunch. I love candid brunch shots. Look at Gurj's adorable little smile! She's so happy with her pancakes! Meredith was boiling these beautiful "blue potatoes" to make blue potato salad! Now we're ready to go! Vegetarian matzoh ball soup! On Wednesday night we met up with Dave and Marina and headed over to Meredith's parent's apartment in order to celebrate Pesach ! There are different things that you pass around and eat that represent different parts of the story. There's some salt water, an egg, horseradish, parsley. You're also supposed to have a lamb's shank bone... On the way home, we called and ordered a pizza. It showed up like 3 minutes after we did. Perfect timing! Happy Birthday, Andrew and Ryan!
