tagged together in 134 photos maddy + edie + dogs I sat there with our two aging dachshunds, holding my friends' ten-month old baby... We did a little pre-gaming at my place... Took these two ladies on a long walk over to the pet store on 9th Street... Friday morning double hound walk! Saw Jane Anne on Monday and she got to do the double-dachshund cuddle. Sunday snugglers. ...so neither of these ladies wanted to go outside. (I set Edie up with a heating pad for her sore back). Dachshund yin & yang. Held up a piece of chicken in the air to get this photo of these two looking like well behaved dogs. Meredith had recently broken up with Dylan and our HEARTBREAK HOTEL agreement always stands so she came to stay on the couch for a few days and took turns holding the dogs until she felt better. Loading the crew back up. Exploring so hard. We drove to a park in Ellen's hometown. City dogs dying to be let off leash! Wiener walkin. Started the month off strong with a double dog hang Gurj slumber party. After walking these ladies... Dog-gang hang! Perfect Friday summer weather. Walked these two characters... Leigh came over for a hang and to drop off an Edie for me to watch for a bit. Stopped back at home to hang with the monkeys (Edie's butt on the pillow! Ha!) They are hilarious to walk together. They are always trying to race ahead in front of each other. I'm the leader of the pack. No, I'M the leader of the pack! ...AND Edie! Hahah. Such cuddle buddies. Edie hops up onto his lap every chance she gets. Grant is in denial about liking dogs, but they sure like him. Hahah. ...the Sisters Houndine. Alysha was in town and came for a visit on Friday night. She tried my Kasina Mind Machine and got some quality hang time with... Brought the pack back to mine to hang. On Wednesday afternoon I walked to Washington Square Park to meet up with Ellen. We had 4 dogs between us. Always love waking up to find out what configuration of blankets and butt-to-butt arrangements these two have come up with over night. Why he wearing that hat? Don't ask me! Haha. These two! Spent Sunday snoozing on the couch and reading with these two wizards. I also got this very excellent handset for my cell phone! ...and bone-chewin! After dropping Maddy over at Leigh's, she settled in for some butt-touchin'... Who wants a treat? Work for it! ...and Edie for their evening walk... Caught these two snuggling on the way up to bed. Sunbathing buddies. Got an Edie houseguest on Saturday! All three! On the very first morning of 2014, Piper & Edie helped keep Ellen cozy while she waited for... Mer came over to my place a little after 9pm, and we walked with the dogs over to the West Village... ...with my terrifying pack of Halloween Hell Hounds! Dachshund infestation! On the walk home, Maddy ran into her doppleganger (dapple-ganger?), Esther! You guys look like ME! They are always so excited to see each other! Squad. Bunk buddies. Walking the ladies. Woke up Tuesday morning to find these two rough-housing on the couch and making weird goose-honking noises at each other. ...and then she pulls her head out and attacks Edie! Repeat times one-hundred. Maddy likes to play this game where she buries her head under a blanket (she can't see anything so she thinks she's invisible?)... Finished up early enough to take a late-afternoon nap with these two bozos. Bookends. Later that evening, Edie came over to stay for a bit. Two dogs, one lap! Jeet crashed on the couch and got her legs snuggled by these two idjits. Haha. (I hung out with Catrinel in the evening, but didn't take any pics I guess!) Frozen fruit bars for dessert. Strawberry Popsicle Lounging. I was trying to get a photo of Maddy's head all tucked under Jeet's feet... ...but she woke up when she heard me giggling. Haha. Except for these two. Sunday was my last day of dog-sitting Edie so I wanted to get my two-houndsworth. ...to hang out with these two. Lazy sunday! Was going to head out to the beach, but ended up hanging around the neighborhood with these three halfwits. Honkfest. On Wednesday I took Maddy over to Leigh and Ryan's. Edie and Maddy pay close attention... ...to Vin eating a slice. Haha. ...out to meet up with Edie, Leigh & Ryan. Maddly LOVES Edie so much. Haha. Blessed with armrests . We had both Maddy and Edie with us! After, they came back to our place and played with the hounds. Edie and Maddy are almost the same size and they look like negatives of each other! Later that night Edie got dropped off at our place! Edie came too. Hallway dog-fight! Later that night we emailed Leigh the picture of the dogs we met and she texted us this photos of the hounds back in NYC. Haha. Dogs, in general, aren't big fans of rock shows. We were dogsitting Edie so there were plenty of doogs to go around. On Saturday afternoon my parents came into town to see our honeymoon photos and have dinner. Leigh explained this to us and then demonstrated. "See? Stackable hounds!" Hahaha. Leigh's building has a lot of stairs. The dogs can climb UP stairs, but they have trouble descending steep stairs and need to be carried down them (because of their midgety legs and long wienery bodies). Turns out that the easiest way to get both dogs downstairs for a walk is TO STACK THEM! ...to pick up Maddy! Leigh and Scott had graciously agreed to watch our hound for us while we were away getting married on on our honeymoon ! Dog park. On Sunday morning we put the dogs in bags (no cages but bags are ok!)... Wiener parade! Three-wiener party! Watering the hounds. Couch doogs. These two guys even nap together all the time. Such buds. Funnily enough, I don't think this is the first time he's had two wieners in his face! Ba-dum-cha! I went into my office in the evening and found both of the dogs burrowing into the comforter on the couch. These two were very interested in the smell of frying falafel. Mmmm.
