And then much later on, Lisa and Pauly came over for family night. I set up the timer on my camera and put it on top of the TV to take this FAMILY NIGHT PORTRAIT.
...transform into an operatic songbird with a decorative lamp shooting out of your head! (This is basically Lisa transforming into a Dr. Seuss drawing)
We got totally obsessed playing the ski jump game on Wii Fit. You have to stand perfectly still on the balance board and lean forward while your skier heads down the ramp. And then right as he gets to the end of the ramp...
Later than night back in NYC, Pauly and Lisa came over with all sorts of EXOTIC CANDY BARS they'd purchased for us as treats on their recent trip home to Canada.
The door had one of the those locks that requires a key from the inside. After we finished our game, we woke Pauly up and tried to leave, but the bartender totally misplaced his keys and we were all stuck inside 15 minutes until he found them. Pauly just wanted to get into bed.
Hahaha. Oh man, this photo makes me laugh out loud. Two years have passed since I took this pic. Lisa and Pauly broke up almost a year ago! Pauly moved back to Canada last week and we never see Lisa anymore. Good times, you guys. Miss you!)
We left Hanger a little before 5am so that we could get a FALAFEL around the corner before they closed! We were capital W wasted. Pauly is either talking about big tits or the utter awesomeness that you can still get a falafel so late at night in NYC.
Afterwards, I rode my bike all the way back downtown in the freezing cold and met up with Lisa and Pauly at Niagra. We had a couple of drinks and then decided to hit Odessa for some late night grub.
On Friday night we went out with Lisa and Pauly and had drinks at Odessa. (By the way, Pauly was leaning on his hand in this picture and trying to look "leisurely." He's most definitely NOT mocking Asians - I swear!)
I was trying to get another "nacho reaction" shot and I accidentally zoomed in without realizing it and took this photo. Which led to us taking a whole bunch of awkwardly zoomed-in photos! It's clearly the new "ugly face."
We left Winnie's around 1:15am. Not because it was late. Not because we were too drunk (hey, you can never be too drunk for karaoke, right?). Not even because we'd run out of songs that we wanted to sing.
After filling our gullets with treats and booze, someone realized that we were just a few short blocks away from Winnie's! Which is the best karaoke bar in Chinatown (where all the songs are still on LASER DISC)! Check out the rocking troupe we had. Hahaha.
I headed over with Lisa and Pauly (I know they're standing in "Pauly and Lisa" order in this photo, but that just doesn't roll off the tongue quite as nicely)...
We hope the large tip we left and all the booby flashes provided by our womenfolk helped make up for our state that evening. We'll try not to let it happen ever again for at least a couple of months.
Love,
Lisa Michelle, Pauly, Meredith, Iva and Brian.
...and to get drunker. Once you surpass a certain number of drinks, Guitar Hero will no longer satisfy your urge to drunkenly sing along with songs you love and you invariably end up deciding that you should go sing KARAOKE!
And it was also one of the first nights we hung out with our new family-tv-night buddies Lisa and Pauly (seriously you should click that link and watch their video, The Broker, right now). Here's Meredith with Lisa...
