I brought home a new bag of treats from the pet shop and Maddy was very interested! Turns out she was really into... Dachshund infestation! While walking through the park, Maddy got her head stuck in this box while trying to catch a squirrel! Nap time with Teddy! Great Dane puppy! On the walk home, Maddy ran into her doppleganger (dapple-ganger?), Esther! You guys look like ME! They are always so excited to see each other! Squad. Bunk buddies. Sleeping between feet! Took these ladies for their evening stroll. ...put this little dingle in the car... ...snuggled up. Got home to find these guys all... In addition to the big lawn they also have... Husky chilling in the dog park like. Walking the ladies. Woke up Tuesday morning to find these two rough-housing on the couch and making weird goose-honking noises at each other. ...and then she pulls her head out and attacks Edie! Repeat times one-hundred. Maddy likes to play this game where she buries her head under a blanket (she can't see anything so she thinks she's invisible?)... Finished up early enough to take a late-afternoon nap with these two bozos. Bookends. I tried to make Edie green! Later that evening, Edie came over to stay for a bit. Follows the afternoon sun as it moves across the couch. Sun is slowly melting my tiny dog brain. One of my favorite things is watching Maddy settle down into a sunbeam, all squinty-eyed... ...and then watch her try her hardest to stay awake. What wants? Is sleepy! Huh? Maddy lazily half-burroughed under blanket after her morning walk. Where is the face? Yes, hello. Who lives here? Pigeon fly away. Maddy has a very specific dirty look she gives me when she's ready for a walk. Spotted this lesson in advanced dogwalking (six!) from the window of a client of mine on Bond Street. ...with this squidgel. What a hunch-whistle! ...."Ok, I'm ready for you to pet me now." ...and then fall onto her side. This is her way of saying... So hard to know it and not smash it with love. Awww, this little cuddle bear. When you walk into a room and pay attention to Maddy, she'll look at you... ..a little speckled wiener dog who wasn't entirely sure if she was ready to forgive me for leaving. "IS BACK NOW?" Made another dog friend. Aw, beardy! ...and took turns hugging this GIANT PUPPY at the dive shop dock. Dog friend number two. Nice to sit on the dock with these guys and feel at home on the earth. Two of the local beach dogs followed me out onto the dock and kept me company. After checking out of my terrible hotel, I tried one last time to make friends with this chocolate dachshund, but she didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with me. So barky! ...that loves to drink Coca-cola! (Don't worry, he only gave him a sip). The bartender (owner?) there has a little white dog... ...and suddenly, I had an entourage! (They were both low and wienery looking and made me think of Maddy). Back on land, I made friends with these two roaming beach dogs! A few kind words and a scratch behind the ears... Ran into Maddy & Edie's winer twins at the park Monday afternoon. ...two wiener armrests. Lucky! ...and Brett and Amy came to stay with me for a couple days in New York! ...for their stocking stuffers! Hahah. My mom is pretty funny. Then we called the dogs over... Such a serious tugger. Ok, now the other one! ...down to south Jersey to spend Christmas with my family! Dad & Teddy after dinner. Meredith and her new roomie, Gina. Maddy napped on my knee. Two dogs, one lap! Jeet crashed on the couch and got her legs snuggled by these two idjits. Haha. (I hung out with Catrinel in the evening, but didn't take any pics I guess!) Frozen fruit bars for dessert. Strawberry Popsicle Lounging. I was trying to get a photo of Maddy's head all tucked under Jeet's feet... ...but she woke up when she heard me giggling. Haha. Maddy is too long and wienery to fit on my lap but that doesn't stop her from curling up there all the time. Except for these two. Sunday was my last day of dog-sitting Edie so I wanted to get my two-houndsworth. Later that afternoon, I hung out with Mer and the two puppies she fostered for a week. This one and... ...this one! Adorable. Had a little couch time with Edie. This dude on the other hand was sitting in the snow, waiting for his owner like no bid deal. Maddy's low-clearance means she has low tolerance for being out in the snow. She usually makes it about thirty feet before wanting to head home. ...with this lil long-dog snoozing on my leg. Haha. Walking the beasts. We even managed to find a place to park again! Took a little afternoon couch nap with this grimple... ...and got some much needed dog-love from Dexter who napped next to me. ...our hot dogs roasted in the sun. Piper slept in Ellen's elbow crook the whole drive out. Haha. Meredith holds Piper while the car gets loaded up. Such a blankety grimple. Meredith went off for an evening of Johnny Airmart Filipino grocery shopping adventures with Caiti while... Also, this guy. Meredith put Zombie in a bag and noticed that one of the framed pictures on the dresser... WHO'S GOING TO WIN? ...to hang out with these two. Lazy sunday! Was going to head out to the beach, but ended up hanging around the neighborhood with these three halfwits. Honkfest. Hey, you seen my mom? On Friday morning Ellen dropped off Piper with us so we could look after her for the next week and a half. Maddy and Piper chased each other around. Look at that smile!
