Excellent day of birthday beach napping! By the way, I'm a big fan of these new kinds of bikinis where they use strings instead of fabric. I find them interesting.

They are tiny and devastating. It's always a good idea to split it with a few people because you really have no idea how much alcohol is even in the thing. Probably not enough to kill four adults, right? Of course not, that's why you split it up!

It was the first time I'd been out to Far Rock since Hurricane Sandy. Crazy to see that the entire boardwalk was completely gone and they had up fencing everywhere.
Astra and her friends like to sit at "the gay beach," specifically at a spot they designate as being close to "The Tranny Fortress" (which is the "rainbow-fenced" area you see to the left in this photo).
I found a beach-side restaurant near the airport and had some lunch, then walked around looking for a room. Found a place on the beach for $80 USD a night which was more than I wanted to spend.
This sign is another example of something I found really charming about Belize. They're an English colony and English is the official language, but a lot of the signs there phonetically spell out the local pronunciations of words! SO GOOD!
Future me: "This place is totally different now! I remember what it was like back in the day when the sidewalk was only 20" wide. Before this 28" super-highway was installed! Pssssh."
On my way to inquire about a diving trip, I followed these two cuties on their morning commute to their beach-front school. This narrow sidewalk is one of the main "roads" in town.
We returned from a swim to find we'd gotten a new neighbor, who from our vantage point, seemed to be completely naked. Leigh tiptoed in for a closer look.
We found a hotel with a room we liked. After checking in, we had a pasta dinner downstairs, and then, exhausted from our long travel day, laid down for 6pm nap that lasted until the next morning!
