After the fireworks were over, we headed downstairs to 3A and enjoyed... Later that night we reconvened at Matt's to attempt to watch Game of Thrones and not slip into a food coma after Hans came rolling in with FOUR DIFFERENT KINDS of homemade empanadas. On Saturday Matt and I met up with Hans and Ellen... Dessert! ...then the mans (with honorable man-baby, Juliette). Thanks for always inviting us all into your home and... ...Hans to whip up another round of Nutella-filled crepes! Ok, you twisted my arm. I guess I'll have one more! A little before midnight we went up onto the roof to bring in the new year with the rest of the city! ...to bring in the new year at Ellen & Hans' apartment! Smash them all together! Dog pile! Always a quick way to "improve" any group game! After a few hours of warm-up , we graduated to a card game called Apples to Apples. Trying to enjoy the last bit of outdoor evening weather! ...patiently set ablaze by Hans. Afterwards, I took a cab down to the West Village for a Mexican feast to celebrate Meredith's birthday. Maddy fluffed the couch pillows to the group's adoration. On Monday night a bunch of us met up to celebrate... On Saturday afternoon, Ellen invited me over for a hang at their new West Village apartment. Despite living in NYC for 16 years, I still get lost in the West Village all the time. I called Ellen for assistance on the way, "Where are you?" she asked, "I don't know how this is possible," I reluctantly replied, "but I swear I'm at the intersection of Wavery Place & Waverly Place!"
Ellen and I hung out for a while, shooting the shit and watching Youtube videos. Hans was acting a little funny. Later, I found out it was because he was waiting for me to leave so that HE COULD PROPOSE MARRIAGE!

Thanks for having us all over! Going through the holidays after our break-up was a bummer. I didn't want to have to talk about myself or answer any questions about my life. So I'd originally planned on spending Thanksgiving hiding out in my apartment.
I'm very thankful for Grant who came and dug me out of my hidey-hole and convinced me to head upstate with him to have Thanksgiving with the Fatemans! We were going to take the train, but then Ellen texted and offered to lend us her car! We stopped by their apartment and found Hans in... Quinn, Hans & Ellen. ...walked around the corner to Hans' place to catch a ride to Rockaway beach. Hans is an excellent surfboard-stacker. LET THERE BE LIGHT (other than the giant paper globe that Matt was walking around with). I like this photo very much. It looks like they're putting on a play! We had ourselves a pizza-party dinner... Hans hands horses hay. Hans, Matt, Jenny, Biggy & Zombie = Five-creature Capacity! Still going strong two hours in. Matt had to REGULATE, Warren G style. It was time for karaoke! (It's been awhile, old friend) ...and a whole roomful of people he knew yelled SURPRISE! So good. Hans & Ellen helmeting to depart via Hans' Vespa. (And Piper!) Huge Italian feast. Later that evening, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn for dinner to celebrate... We walked all the way over to Fort Tilden beach and checked out the sandy pathways... Brothers! Hans' brother Ulie was in town from Germany and wanted to see Rockaway Beach. Ellen and Hans came by a little before 11am and picked us up! The show-stealer of the evening was most definitely Hans' BRUTAL sunburn. Haha. SUPER HANS! Later that evening, I went to a ping pong benefit party at SPiN. Getting ready to square off against Hans! Our groups combined tables and we ordered lots of food. Grant fielding some questions and signing books after the reading. ...for Ellen's birthday breakfast celebration! Happy Brithday, Ellen!
