Almost four hours after arriving and we still hadn't managed to ride a ride. FAAAACK! We arrived to find the parking lot COMPLETELY MOBBED. Look how far away we had to park! We'd forgotten that this was the week of Spring Break for most high schools. Noooooooo! Great Adventure, here we come! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GURJEET! I love you! We scored some ice coffees, walked up the street, scored our Zipcar... Later that evening, Gurj came over for a sleepover in preparation for our day of hooky celebrating her birthday at GREAT ADVENTURE! ...I'm glad I spent mine laughing and snacking with you all! Happy February 2012! You only get a February 29th once every four years... Such a nice mid-week catch up! Friend reunion at Apt 3a! Three books deep! Ready to head out! Later that evening, Jared & Ellen joined us... Everyone had the day off on Monday for MLK Day. Gurj came over in the early afternoon. There was a very happy Seamless mix-up and we somehow ended up with both Thai food and Curly's for lunch. FEAST! After Saturday's big Halloween night out, on Sunday we went to Lillie's for a Spooky Brunch. OMFG, Quinn, Karen, Gurj and Sarah came in one of the best GROUP COSTUMES I've ever seen: the In Living Color FLY GIRLS . Ahahahahahah. That makes Meredith Sexy Fire Marshall Bill? Pretty nice little Wednesday. Later that night, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn Bowl to meet up with these guys! Later that night Gurj came over... ...score some cookies! I went to go see the movie 50/50 and Mer and Gurj went to Irving Plaza to visit Ellen at a Third Eye Blind DVD shoot. (No, seriously!) On Tuesday evening, I went out to the West Village to celebrate Davo & The KTB visiting from London! I took this first photo... Subway ride home with these lovelies! Mandy, Mer and Gurj! ...and then we went to Odessa to meet Fran & Gurj for lunch! ...we asked them to take a group photo for us! Let's hear it for diner / bowling therapy! Gurj took game two! Getting it. Mustache repurposing! These gents took good care of me. I was kind of in the middle of an existential crisis and didn't know what to even do with myself. Gurj and Jared suggested we go for a drive and try to find a random place to eat. We ended up finding some awesome chromed-out diner in Benson Hurst... Gurj and Jared came out to visit us. ...Jared, Gurj and... Me & Jeet. Later that night a bunch of us went over to 3A... Adventure team on the move. Hey! Haha. Marveling at nature while Meredith drew us pictures! The park was pretty packed, but we managed to find a nice area off to the side of the Sheep's Meadow. ...THIS SIDE! Lunch crew. Gurj & Cat. We watched Egyptian pyramid conspiracy movies and then lapsed into treat comas! ...and then headed around the corner to Sheen Brothers on a... Gurj came over for a hang later that evening! Schnack time! A few minutes later, Jared and Gurj arrived! Sweet summer roof. Holmes, Hart & Bassi (sounds like a male grooming-products company). Exactly five minutes later. Hahaha. Pancake nap! Delicious! Gurj crashed on our couch on Friday night and when we woke up on Saturday morning... Time to head home! ...to get delicious burritos... Goodnight! And we got a hotel for our last evening because Mike and Tanya were returning from their trip! Back in San Francisco we met up for a few drinks with Alysha and Yonatan! Gurj and I peeped ourselves some new roadside headgear while we were gassing up. Ready to head back down. Nothing like a good road trip. So excited. Look at this place! After marveling at the Sea Lions, we went to an museum of coin-operated arcade games! ...then made our way over to see about... We walked around downtown for a bit... On Monday we got an early start to do some sightseeing! After the show I was standing outside chatting with Gurj when all of a sudden... Behind every good man... HAHAHA. A little over an hour later we were fresh as daisies... We had a few hours to kill before any bands we wanted to see were on so we took a little snooze in the car! ...it was time for a schnack break! ...hello! Why yes... ...HERE! ...so much! We woke up early on Sunday so that we could get a full day of activities in before we had to head to the festival that Jared was playing that evening! Headed home! Hahaha. Look who we ran into backstage! Robbie! ...we ordered some Thai food! ...an air mattress and some sheets to make up an extra bed in the living room! We headed up to the amazing roof deck... Around 5:30, we got a call from Jared that he'd just arrived in town and was headed over to Mike & Tanya's place to meet up with us! Yay! YES! Nice little Saturday. After we were done with our rubbernecking, we moved on to Hyde Street Pier. Admiring glam shots on the way home. I don't remember what Gurj got but she was sure happy about it! Haha. We woke up to a drizzly Saturday afternoon and headed down to the Mission... I took this photo while Gurj was in the middle of saying "This burrito is the size of my head!" Hahaha. Afterwards we went down to the Mission and got our Mexican on at El Farolito! Mmmmmmm!
