( Oh man, I'm writing this 4.5 years later in late December of 2021 in the midst of the Omicron wave of covid and seeing all these people I love in one place makes me long for this to all be over and to be in a room with so many people I love again.) Ellen took us for a nice long hike along the trails behind their house! ...with Matt to visit Ellen! I'm writing this in January of 2021 in the post-Covid era and it's nice to see all these people just chillen in a room. Turned the lights down low... Love all of these ones. Later that evening, Matt, Meredith & Ellen came over! Mer was getting ready to take a trip with Dylan for the first time! Thanks for having us all over and cooking for us! Later in the evening I went to La Palapa party room to celebrate Karen's birthday! Later that night we reconvened at Matt's to attempt to watch Game of Thrones and not slip into a food coma after Hans came rolling in with FOUR DIFFERENT KINDS of homemade empanadas. ...and headed over to Matt's for Thai food and a hang! Went out for a big post-wedding recovery brunch together. Oh, Table 7! I got shots of everyone coming back... Ellen was our sober driver! Thanks, Ellen for carting us around while we were drunken lunatics. Our group made a slight detour along the way to climb all over a giant ant. ...to cool off outside. Matt had just gotten back in town for a few months on the road touring. Afterwards, I took a cab down to the West Village for a Mexican feast to celebrate Meredith's birthday. On Friday night, I went over to Ellen & Han's apartment for a potluck dinner and a night of awesome hangs with all these lovely people that give me the feels so hard. We found a fire pit near the barn and got ourselves a nice campfire going. LET THERE BE LIGHT (other than the giant paper globe that Matt was walking around with). I like this photo very much. Still going strong two hours in. Matt had to REGULATE, Warren G style. I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place! Later that night, we had a few people over for a low key hang. Never trust a big butt and a smile! Three books deep! Private room at Sing Sing on a Saturday night. Prime time! On Saturday night a whole bunch of us got together to go out for karaoke! And Ellen was telling us about how she was really excited for her second date with some guy named Hans (!!!) that she'd met at the dog park. Later that evening, Matt and Ellen came over to welcome us back home! Yay! Post show hang. Matt, Ellen and me. Big yucks. Instead of ice cream cake, we just had an Ice cream soup party! Rabbit ears. On the way home we stopped for gas... Snack table. Post-midnight Cranium session = strictly for the hardcore. Ellen, Matt and Mer! Later that night we met up with for a late dinner at Black Market! Make a wish! On Saturday we finally felt settled into our new place enough to invite people over for a little Saturday night boardgame get-together. Ellen, Josh, pale-faced post-puke me and Matt on our way out of the party. Congrants on LA, Gideon! Sorry I barfed on your roof! Happy April 2010! All of Gideon's stuff had already been sent ahead to LA already so he'd been camping in the bedroom. Haha. Pre-show warm up. Just a party speed bump. We got into an elevator at the Tribeca Grand and the doors closed before we spotted... Get her up there! (I love how Ellen's part of the hoisting team!) Who, little old me? Dance floor recovery zone. Then Dave stuffed dollar bills into Matt's jeans. Stay classy, everyone! Team 3 was Quinn, Ellen and The Joobs. And the legend of "FEET! FEET! VAGINA-FEET!" was born. ...for a party! After a couple hours of "regular party," the party turned into a CRANIUM party!
