At the end of dinner, Grant serenaded Amanda with his own re-written lyrics to the song "Mandy" by Barry Manilow. It was so funny. "We shared a rock and roll dream and that Gold Street apartment because you didn't say no when I moved in without asking." Lol. Lol. I love karaoke faces when people are really givin er. So we hopped in a cab and headed over to Sing Sing for round 2! Karaoke birthday gang! ...and snuggles before calling it a night. Went out to Brooklyn with Amanda, Grant and Cheeky... But quickly devolves into karaoke where you can just name a song and the band will look up the chords (or Frank probably already knows them and will just shout out the changes!) So nice to see you, Charlene! On Tuesday evening I went over to Amanda's... Post-show reception line of adoring Amanda-fans. Right below my FiASCO fridge magnet! Oh, (Fiasco pics, 2004-2007 ) ...and then we went out to Katie & Siege's to watch... Afterwards, we went next door for... Haha. Getting excited for eating time! On Thursday night Grant and Amanda came over... Amanda & Grant. Dessert nook! Afterwards, we went to Siege & Katie's for a get together in honor of Aki being in town! Amanda, Aki & Grant. Schnacks! We went up to Grand Central and caught the Metro North train up to... ...and then biked over to Astor to meet up with Amanda, Grant and Hanna, who was in town visiting from Toronto. Later that evening I went over to Amanda's to welcome Grant back from a trip and have Sunday dinner together. Happy March 2014! ...with my fellow culture vultures to see... ...to wish Mr. Clayton Cubitt and very happy birthday! Spent Sunday evening hanging out with these two lovelies! Later that evening I biked over to the LES to meet up with Amanda, Grant and his friend Alexandra that was in town from Texas. Marina's comedy preggo-belly! (Grant's expression in the background!) On Saturday afternoon, me, Amanda & Grant met up with a very pregnant Marina & Fatty for breakfast! We had homemade hot doughnuts out back at Back Forty. A little bit of bleed-over from the end of September ! On Sunday night, Grant, Amanda & Mer came over to watch the finale of Breaking Bad followed by the premiere of Eastbound & Down. On Sunday evening, Grant cooked everyone dinner at Amanda's place. Grant and Amanda came over to hang and watch Mad Men and Game of Thrones. After dinner, she and I walked over to Amanda's apartment for a TV premiere party! Grant had recently done a bunch of talking-head interviews for a new History Channel TV series called "How Sex Changed the World"... Later that evening, Grant and Amanda came over for a hang. They brought powder-sugar doughnuts... Ended the weekend with a Sunday night pizza party at Amanda's with Grant and Kristina. ...downgrade the birthday festivities to sparklers. Call out a song and Frank can play it! Later that evening, I met up with Grant & Amanda and we took the train out to Brooklyn to attend... The rarely seen Stoddard Stinkeye! Later that evening, Grant and Amanda came over to hang out and learn a song that Frank wanted to play at their upcoming Christmas Party. Later that night, Mer, Grand and Amanda came over for an Indian feast and a screening of.... On Sunday evening people came over to watch the much anticipated... Jeremy Therapized did not disappoint! Went to meet up with Grant and Amanda at Lucy's, but it was closed. So we went to Sasko instead. Milkshakes and a late night snack with Amanda... Fellow karaoke enthusiasts Grant and Amanda were there! Later Sunday evening, Grant and Amanda came over to watch season 3 of Louie... NOT ENOUGH! How many midnight slices have I eaten with these people I love? Catalog shoot gone improv! Waiting for the rest of our party on the stairs with a lovely-terrible view of St. Marks on a Wednesday at midnight. It was time for karaoke! (It's been awhile, old friend) Welcome back, Matt! Grant, Amanda & Cait came over in the evening so we could all watch the Breaking Bad premiere together. Huge Italian feast. Later that evening, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn for dinner to celebrate... Away we go! Sunday morning breakfast at the main lodge. BBQ! Just as we were finishing up, Siege, Katie, Cynthia and Amanda arrived! Afternoon ice cream at Lula's! (Bonus points for the the thumbs up from a stranger in the background. Haha) ...head to a bar right down the street to meet up with these two to see.. Tuesday night movie and WAY too many snacks at Siege and Katie's. Group shot! That sake stuff sure works! After the reading, we adjourned around the corner to Milady's (RIP!) for drinks! Talk about a Holiday Party reunion! This was the first time that Grant and I had hung out in a long time! Telling stories here, no doubt. But hey, that's why they got into this whole rock thing anyway! Yay, it's November! On Friday night, we went to see Fiasco play a show at Crash Mansion. Crash Mansion has one of the best sounding rooms in downtown NYC, but the crowd there is always a little... After, Kate and Siege took us all out for pizza and beers for helping with the schlepping. Mmmmmm, pizza. Mmmmmm, beer. Siege and I drove over to their new apartment in the moving truck. When we arrived, we found a whole bunch of new people who had showed up to help unpack! Hahaha. I grabbed a few drinks with Grant, Amanda, Chris the Greek (who was in town from DC) and Eric George. At then a little before midnight, Fiasco took the stage and rokked it. ...while Grant, Amanda and I hopped in a cab. They headed home and afterwards I took the cab to see if MisShapes was still going on. But hey, that's just how we do. The affair started low-key with the usual suspects (Grant, Fatty, Katie, Amanda and Siege) chilling in my room.
