The next morning I woke up at 1:30pm to find this guy on the couch sleeping with sunglasses and a top-notch creeper-stache! Matt, Ethan and Meredith. Brett improvised and used his sunglasses as goggles. Haha Nothing better than a boat ride on a sunny day. Trying to prevent my bean from getting cooked in the equatorial sun. Jude's shiner! Zombified ride through the countryside. And met up with Dave and a bunch of other people we'd met the previous evening. The were having some drinks, enjoying the sun and... We walked a couple hundred yards... On Saturday afternoon we walked a block over to Tompkins Square Park... I took the day off on Friday! Ran errands with this one. ...and waiting for the rest of the Great Adventure gang to arrive. Love these two. ...the beach! We met up with Aki and decided to bike over to a nearby park with... Hahah. ...and got freshly made donuts (holyshit)! Congrats on the place, Grant & Aki! ...joined forces with Pauly & Cynthia and drove out to Queens for a day at... A little after noon, Mer and I met up with Matt, took the subway out to Brooklyn... I love this picture! Thanks for being my boo, boo. Haha. Mostly-empty subway car means that you can do things like try out your beach chair on the subway. ...and treats! Pinchy! The house my parent's bought is in a retirement community that has an age-minimum. Because Meredith and aren't residents, we need to be accompanied by one of my parents if we'd like to visit the pool. ...and headed crosstown to the UCB Theater. ...Karen and Josh... ...headed back downstairs at 6:30pm to meet up with Sarah, Jenny... Jeet and me. Right before the big drop (bonus points for accidentally taking a picture of the kid over my right shoulder shitting rocks). Team Hobo forever. We stayed until just after 5pm. On Sunday we went to Meredith's parents house. We found these glasses in the basement. Party time, incorporated. We packed up our things a little before four. We managed to leave the apartment early on Saturday to head to Far Rockaway! Inverted beak-kiss! Leigh, Randy and Edie! Haha. It's hard to look cool when you've got a nose dribble, Edie. Hounds in shades! Mark, Karen and me. We sat on nearby park bench and enjoyed our still-warm donuts in the spring sunshine. On Saturday morning, we walked over to St. Marks to stock up on cheapo $5 sunglasses... Ready to get your joust on? ...pick up $5 sunglasses. Meredith got these guys (I don't think I ever saw them again).... ...and I got 4 more pairs of these! (My eyes are super sensitive to sunlight. The darker the lenses, the better!) ...and had brunch on the sidewalk. Later that afternoon, we went to the dog park and ran into Matt. Saturday was a beautiful spring day so we walked around the neighborhood and found a brand new place on 4th Street to get brunch. Ok, and maybe also a pair of shades too. Later in the afternoon, we wandered around the town on foot. Mer did a bunch of souvenir shopping... ...on a rafting trip! Haha. Here's Meredith all decked out. We busted out the guidebook and started looking at possible next-destinations! Mer doesn't like scuba diving (she has trouble equalizing the pressure in her ears) but she was excited to snorkel around the reef while we were diving. After breakfast, we relaxed in lounge chairs on the beach... One last photo of us in our nice clothes before heading back to the hotel to change. Thumbs up showing off our new rings! Thanks for marrying me! Excited! Me and mom! That's where we're getting married! Scott and Leigh and over later that night. Tuesday, 7:45am. Day two of our off-site. Subway ride home. Around 6pm we decided to pack it in for the day. Mer and me. ...met up with Pauly and took the A train out to.... Leigh and Geordon came out to meet us. Even the pool can't tame Geordon's majestic hair. It just wants to be free. Steering a paddle boat is not easy. Mmmmm...shitty boardwalk pizza. We got slices on the boardwalk. Awesome day at the beach. Transfer to the A at Broadway Junction. The connecting hallway between stations has stain glass windows. Later that afternoon, we went over to Matt's... We rented a car and picked up Murdo on our way heading north to Salisbury, CT.
