Back in the East Village, we celebrated our afternoon wave-jumping triumphs with an Odessa feast! ...to spend the afternoon.... On Monday morning Jared picked me up... On Thursday I received my invite to the upcoming Bassi-Piccone wedding! Verrrrry exciting! Gurj & Jared came over for a lovely evening hang. These are my friends. There are many like them, but these ones are mine. Jared & Josh's excitement while exploring the SIX FLAVORS of ice cream was palpable. On Friday night, I went over to Ellen & Han's apartment for a potluck dinner and a night of awesome hangs with all these lovely people that give me the feels so hard. Jared went up into the loft to recreate the cover of Michael Jackson's Thriller. Hahaha. This is my 100% favorite photo of J-rod. So sultry. ...for a dress-as-movie-character Oscar party at Quinn & Sarah's. Haha. Jared, Gurj & Quinn came over for a Saturday night hang. It was the five-year anniversary of their 'last show' in 2007 ! On Thursday night, I went to Piano's to see Group Sounds play a show! ...to watch the election results. After working up an appetite... Later in the afternoon, I met up with Jared... Jared was so stoked. Awesome show! Thanks for inviting us out to see you guys play! ...Jared was like "Whatever you do, don't touch THAT!" As we climbed the steps, we spotted a few... ...which means they were well-rested for our late-night snacks! These two took a little party nap on the drive back to Boulder... Ta-da! Ran down to congratulate Jared after the show. The band surveying... ...to grab a drink and then we set out to do some... Later that night we headed over to Sean's parent's house for a big BBQ dinner. While we were there, Jared showed us... This makes me laugh out loud every time I read it. ...the incredible homemade card he made to apologize for the time he puked in his bandmates' mother's car on a previous visit to Boulder. Later that evening, we met up with Jared and then headed over to Pearl Street... ...Gurj and Jared's brand new apartment! Congrats on the move, guys! Turn your back on that creep, Peaceful Jared! We kept imaging him waking up to see a stone face wearing his own glasses and laughing SO HARD. French bulldog statue and sleeping bust wearing Jared's glasses. Jared fell asleep first and someone got the amazing idea to start putting art in bed with him. Making friends with a hallway buddha we ran into along the way. WHO'S GOING TO WIN? ...to play some LRC before dinner! Haha. Two and a half hours into the drive, we stopped at a diner up 87. Jared and Gurj came by on Saturday afternoon and picked up me, Mer & Quinn in the East Village. We grabbed some ice coffees and then headed to the car. Jared closed us out! ...and a whole roomful of people he knew yelled SURPRISE! On Friday night a bunch of us met up... So excited for a rafting adventure! ...we grabbed some lunch and waited for our group to be called to head down to the river. Jared and I went across the street and returned triumphant with MULTIPLE dollar-pizza pies. Dog smooch time! I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place! Jay was there with his new girlfriend, Krystyna. Since then, Krystyna and her friend Corinne have started doing a really funny podcast called GUYS WE FUCKED: The Anti Slut-Shaming Podcast . They have 500k followers on SoundCloud in like 4 months! Congrats! She and Jared came over to hang out before heading out into the neighborhood for birthday drinks! Later that evening, we went out for drinks at HiFi! ...and we had an awesome day of riding our bikes around. Later that night, we had a few people over for a low key hang. Jared & Ellen combo = magic. Yes! MORE MORE MORE! All finished! Help. Us. Drink This! Ready to head out! On Saturday night a whole bunch of us got together to go out for karaoke! Jared turned up with a bottle of Jagermeister and explained "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do this. I was in line at the liquor store thinking about something else and when I got to the counter and the guy asked me what I wanted, I hadn't even thought about it and totally panicked. I looked around and the first thing I saw was Jagermeister so I said to him: Jagermeister. So, uh, I brought a bottle of Jagermeister." Here's to happy accidents! Later that evening, Jared & Ellen joined us... Pretty nice little Wednesday. Later that night, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn Bowl to meet up with these guys! On Tuesday evening, I went out to the West Village to celebrate Davo & The KTB visiting from London! I took this first photo... ...we asked them to take a group photo for us! Let's hear it for diner / bowling therapy! Gurj took game two! Doing it. Ok, now let's get competitive! The portions were so ridiculous. I was kind of in the middle of an existential crisis and didn't know what to even do with myself. Gurj and Jared suggested we go for a drive and try to find a random place to eat. We ended up finding some awesome chromed-out diner in Benson Hurst... Haha. ...Jared, Gurj and... ...we hit the beach for a bit! (Not much going on). Then I met up with Jared and we took the subway out to Beach 90. Jared and the Sea. <3 Schnack time! A few minutes later, Jared and Gurj arrived! Time to head home! ...to get delicious burritos... Goodnight! And we got a hotel for our last evening because Mike and Tanya were returning from their trip! The two-hour drive back flew by. Haha. Ready to head back down. Nothing like a good road trip. Cha-cha-chillin. So excited. Look at this place! After marveling at the Sea Lions, we went to an museum of coin-operated arcade games! ...then made our way over to see about... We walked around downtown for a bit... On Monday we got an early start to do some sightseeing!
