On Sunday morning I went running with Grant. He slowed down considerably to accommodate my beginner's pace. Grant classed-up our dollar pies with some fancy hand-grated Parmesan. It makes an $8 dollar pizza taste like a $20 pizza! Silent grazing. I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place! Story time! Later that night, Grant cooked dinner. On Wednesday morning Grant came back to New York. He came straight to our place and we ate bagels in the park. On February morning, I got up early to wish this guy a safe trip back to Vancouver! Tuesday morning work session in our living room. On Monday evening, Grant arrived back in NYC after visiting his family in the UK. We headed out to Motorino to celebrate his return! Group shot! That sake stuff sure works! One of the dudes asked if he could get in on our cab with us and then promptly proceeded to pass out on Grant's shoulder. Haha. ...sang a bunch of tunes together! On Saturday evening, Grant and I headed out to Brooklyn to Frank & Liz's. We played Cranium with some friends of theirs and then... That redeye always catches up with you. After the game, Siege had each of us pose for a KING ME Polaroid. Our favorite sexpert! After the reading, we adjourned around the corner to Milady's (RIP!) for drinks! On Wednesday evening, I headed to Toys in Babeland in Soho to attend a book release party for the new book Grant co-authored with Dr. Debby Herbenick... Later that evening, we hunkered down and did some separate work together. ...headed over to Odessa for our traditional "welcome back to NY" breakfast. Early on Monday morning, Grant arrived on the red eye from Vancouver. He dropped his bag off at our apt and we... ...with these two! Happy October 2011! Happy Halloween 2011! Here's to ten years of Halloweens! Making friends. No dice! We ended up walking back to the East Village... Mer & Grant. Dancefloor... Grant and his homemade DROOG costume! That afternoon was Halloween costume preparation arts and crafts! Wakey wakey! Four hours later and Maddy was still in cuddle buddy heaven. What's better than having a nap guard dog? With a belly full of breakfast, the few Ambien Grant had taken on the plane were lingering and he still felt pretty altered. He decided to lay down to sleep it off. Maddy LOVES Grant and was so excited to have her favorite buddy back to nap with. On Saturday morning Grant arrived at our apartment fresh off a red-eye flight from Vancouver! Congrats, other Meredith! Let's hear it for internet strangers! After party at our place! Vin & Grant. ...to officially welcome Grant back to NYC! Grant & Jen! Not even all this... ...and took her to the dog park. Maddy was in awe... ...to meet up with Clayton to see Cave of Forgotten Dreams in 3D! TWINSIES! Later that afternoon, we walked to IFC in the West Village...xx Last run of the day! Thanks again so much for having me out! ...before suiting up one last time! On Tuesday morning, Grant and I met up with Aki for a coffee... Later that night we went to PechaKucha night! Pechakucha (means "chit chat" in Japanese) and is a specific-format for giving presentations where you get to show 20 slides for 20 seconds each. The presentation lasts 6 minutes and 40 seconds, and your slides are on auto-timer so you have to be ready to speak for around 20 seconds exactly! It's sort of like a haiku format for presentations! On the other side, we met up with Leslie! (I still dream about this.) After the interview, we met up with Matt and took the peak 2 peak over to the other mountain! ...so that Grant could call into a radio show to chat about an opinion piece of his that had recently been published about Canadians and the Queen of England! . Hard at work on a Monday! Hoverboard! Thanks for having me, bud! At the peak, we made plans to meet up with Matt a little later. Grant did some hand walking... Kneeling into your boots is never not-funny. Hey, it's Timmy Tinylegs... Around 1pm, we met up with Aki and some friends that were out on the mountain and got lunch Snowboarding down a steep incline with a foot of powder is like a barely-controlled fall through the clouds. The mountain is so steep that when you're facing uphill you only have to bend your knees slightly to be kneeling on the mountain! Awesome. Ready? At the top of the mountain, we kept our boards off so that we could hike up and find some less traveled snow. Happy Snoopy back on the mountain.
