Grant came over a little before midnight and we walked over to the football field at East River Park for an awesome session of night frisbee! One of my most favorite things in the world!
grant
Monday night bro-down
grant
Welcome to my living room on a Wednesday morning. Woke up to this like it's the most natural thing in the world.
grant
...just how adorable she can be when she has a fawning audience.
grant
...and Maddy was eager to show off...
grant
...Grant and Aki's Uncle Norbert, who was in town visiting from BC, Canada. Posing with this mattress someone got artsy with on 10th street.
grant
Before taking me to the airport, Grant drove into Richmond, BC to check out a tiny fishing community called Finn Slough.
grant
Stopped at some huge indoor market and got snacks and freshly baked donuts...
grant
Thanks for having me!
grant
...and then went out to dinner with Aki!
grant
Had a balcony beer back at the apartment...
grant
Blueberry pancakes!
grant
On Sunday afternoon we drove back down to Vancouver...
grant
We made it back to our cars in around four hours (walking downhill is much easier) and then drove into Pemberton for a late lunch.
grant
Only two hours left!
grant
Right after we left camp, we ran into another group of campers who were stopped because one of them had badly sprained or broken their ankle. About two hours later, we were stopped for a rest...
grant
...before we got back on the trail and started our descent.
grant
Why not enjoy some fresh...
grant
By 11am we'd broken camp and gotten everything packed away.
grant
No fires allowed, but a bunch of our clothes were still cold and damp from getting caught in the rain. So we built a really small fire to dry some stuff out before leaving.
grant
...everyone was awake!
grant
...a morning dance show!
grant
Grant put on...
grant
...before it started again and kept up all night. We hung out for a bit in the evening...
grant
We got our tents up and managed to get inside shortly before the pouring rain started.
grant
Hurry, the cloud approaches!
grant
Luckily, we managed to catch up to him a few minutes later and then it was only another ten minutes hike over to the camp site. We got to work on the tents because it looked like the break in the rain...
grant
With the campsite almost in our sight, the pouring rain finally overtook us. We had to scramble up really steep hillside to find a tree large enough to provide any shelter.
grant
Grant had told me in advance that we were going to go camping in an awesome location, but this was beyond all of my expectations!
grant
Don't look down!
grant
Another rushing river.
grant
On with the hike! Still lots of ground to cover to reach the third lake at the foot of the glacier!
grant
...and a beer and discussed whether or not we'd be able to...
grant
grant
...until we came to the bridge.
grant
We wanted to be able to make camp before dark, so we pressed on.
grant
Got our packs situated...
grant
...and did some blueberry picking!
grant
...walked through the garage out back to the fields with an incredible view of the mountains...
grant
Back at the apartment, we started packing our backpacks for our overnight camping trip at Joffrey Lakes.
grant
Went into Whistler Village for an AMAZING breakfast.
grant
This guy hustled to keep me on track with his activity schedule.
grant
Not only is Grant the kind of friend that drives to the airport at midnight to pick you up, unfurl a flag and feed you Canadian donuts, he also stocks the car with exoctic local delicacies like ketchup-flavored potato chips!
grant
Five-and-a-half hours later, I arrived in Vancouver to find Grant awaiting me with an unfurled Canadian flag and a box of TimBits, Tim Horton's answer to the Munchkin.
grant
...and then it was time for him to head to the airport. Fare thee well, summer Grizz!
grant
...and an evening pizza with Kristina at Gruppo.
grant
Morning tunes with Grant...
grant
Hahaha.
grant
I showed Grant my jar of Indian Clay I'd bought and he wanted to try it out.
grant
Snapped this sneaky pic of Grant learning a new song.
grant
Our life is basically Peep Show but with two of Jeremy.
grant
...and Odessa every day!
grant
On Saturday afternoon, Grant moved into my apartment. He'd sublet his apartment for the summer and needed a place to crash for a few days before leaving heading of to Vancouver. That means hot licks...
grant
On Tuesday night Grant and I went out to Williamsburg to hang with Clayton and Katie.
grant
...Grant getting his green card!
grant
On Sunday evening, Grant cooked everyone dinner at Amanda's place.
grant
...Kati roll. Mmmm.
grant
Met up with these guys in the morning for a coffee before they headed to the gym to pump iron.
grant
Pizza party with these guys.
grant
Lazy Sunday, just like Monday! Hot Licks Coffee Hour with your hosts Grant Stoddard and Specklesby Elbowsniffer.
grant
Showed Grant how to plug the guitar into GarageBand and tried my best to prod him into writing songs again.
grant
Grant and Amanda came over to hang and watch Mad Men and Game of Thrones.
grant
He ended up not being featured in the first episode except for a brief clip promoting a future episode, where he said exactly one word: "Penis!"
grant
After dinner, she and I walked over to Amanda's apartment for a TV premiere party!
grant
...so we all gathered to see our friend's inaugural series appearance!
grant
Grant had recently done a bunch of talking-head interviews for a new History Channel TV series called "How Sex Changed the World"...
grant
Grant's friend Carla had just moved to NY from Vancouver!
grant
Backstage after the performance had finished! The piece was totally wild. It started with Theresa in a white-dress and lovely make-up. Her hair was pinned-up in an elaborate "beauty pageant-style" hair-do that concealed a bunch of large ink-filled balloons!

Grant and I emerged from backstage, carrying Theresa in a chair and set her down on a large sheet of paper in front of the audience. After we cleared away, a photographer approached Theresa and started taking a series of close-up portraits of her like they doing a fashion-shoot. She made uncomfortable smiles and posed for his camera. A minute or two into the "shoot," she acted like she was playing with her hair, but she was secretly popping the ink-filled balloons! As she popped each balloon, a gush of jet blank ink seemed to appear from nowhere and would stream over her face and onto the white dress.

The performance ended with the the lights suddenly turning off. Now came the part that we'd spent hours rehearsing! Grant and I had to go out in the darkness...
grant
Here's Grant and I backstage with Theresa, about to lift her up in a chair and carry her out to the awaiting crowd for her performance piece "CLOTHED".
grant
...soothed our troubles with 1am diner-feast at Odessa.
grant
On Thursday night Grant and I walklled a few blocks over the BULLET SPACE gallery...
grant
The morning coffee Grant brings me is usually served up with a few AC/DC and/or Iron Maiden songs. Haha. (Bonus points to Edie for having her back-half on Grant's lap and her front-half on a pillow-fortress).
grant
Late-night meeting of the self-employed club at our auxiliary office (The Bowery Diner).
grant
Later that afternoon, I met Grant up with Grant at Theresa Byrne's art studio.
grant
Later that evening, Grant and Amanda came over for a hang. They brought powder-sugar doughnuts...
grant
...that are very difficult to eat if you're wearing dark clothes.
grant
The other was an investigative journalism piece for Penthouse! "The Squirt Meister: There's a masseur in New York City who says he can provoke female ejaculation in any woman. Our lucky reporter took two volunteers to test his claim."
grant
Later that evening, Grant came over fresh from the newsstand to show me two of his magazine cover-features that had just come out!
grant
Maddy's face. LOL.
grant
Grant came over early on Thursday morning because we'd agreed to help my neighbor Theresa move a bunch of large pieces of art work from her storage unit to her studio.
grant
We went out to dinner with Fatty...
grant
Ended the weekend with a Sunday night pizza party at Amanda's with Grant and Kristina.
grant
Later that evening, Grant and I went over to Clayton's to watch the DOD's latest Oscar-winning film, Zero Dark Thirty. Nice to see where our tax dollars are going! (Did you know that Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 overturned a law that was in place for 64 years that made it illegal for the government to directly propagandize to American citizens? The new law not only makes it legal, they now have a congressional budget to do so) Happy March, 2013!
grant
Went out to Brooklyn with Grant to celebrate Sarah's birthday! Happy birthday, Sarah!
grant
Saturday morning pop-in from the Grizz.
grant
Met up with Grant to celebrate our Seinfeldian life at Odessa.
grant
This pancake stack totally defeated my appetite.
grant
Here are 3 frames from my Sunday morning Soho breakfast with THE BRAINTRUST.
grant
Fork-point and a let-me-tell-you-another-thing.
grant
Grant was getting ready to go back to Vancouver for a few weeks so we met up for some late night pie at the (disappointingly short-lived) L'asso East Village. Despite being so full of pizza that I could barely walk...
grant
Look out, he's using performance enhancers!
grant
On Sunday afternoon, Grant came by for a hang. So grateful to have a buddy nearby who likes the surprise pop-in.
grant
...all five flavors! Spinach, carrot, orange, pineapple & apple!
grant
Later that evening, Grant came over and we went to the store together for the express purpose of buying things we wanted to put in the juicer!
grant
grant
grant
grant
grant
...for a King Cake party.

grant
Later that evening, I met up with Grant at Lupe's for some Mexican and discussed travel options to fulfill the doctor's prescribed orders.
