...I sat out on the lanai (that's what people in Florida call those screened-in porches in the backyard) and ate pizza and read a book that I'd picked up in the airport earlier in the month but hadn't gotten around to finishing.
By the time I landed, got to my hotel and checked in, I felt like I was coming down with a nasty cold. I ordered a room service pizza and plate of fries (only vegetarian items on the menu)...
Oh yes, we did. (The funny things about waiting two years until you post photos is that you're usually in a totally different place. We're getting ready to celebrate our two year anniversary and I can't believe hard were partying and how much shitty pizza we were eating! Haha)
Check out the entertainment ammo. The movie The Game (Meredith had NEVER SEEN IT!), two pizzas, a pasta BREAD BOWL, 4 cupcakes and a packet of Reese's.
Later that night, Gurj, Quinn, Ellen and Kaitie came over to our apartment to watch Sunday night TV and eat all sorts of terrible food. Ooof, Dominos Pizza. In NYC! The shame, the shaaaaaame.
On Saturday Meredith and I went to Gruppo and HOUSED one of their amazing pizzas. I don't usually like thin-crust pizza, but for whatever reason, I love theirs. Easily my favorite pizza place in the East Village!
On Monday night, a whole bunch of us went to a pizza-party that Grant had organized to introduce all his friends to Aki, his new girlfriend that had just moved to NYC. Here's Meredith, Cat and Maureen chowing down on pizza! After the pizza was finished...
We ended up going to an Italian restaurant and we shared a pasta dish and a pizza with blue cheese on it (that was really tasty!). By the time we'd finished eating lunch, the rain had finally stopped.
Hahaha. After we finished our snack, we walked around the boardwalk for a while and then decided to call it a day. There weren't many other bands playing that we were interested in seeing...er, and we both had stomachaches from eating greasy boardwalk food. Hahah.
Meredith wasn't feeling well and had gone to bed early. I woke her up a little past four when I got back to the room to give her a delicious pizza snack!
After we closed out the Annex, Lawrence headed home and Mandy and I got pizza! (What's better than the fact that Rosario's is still open at 4:05am on Thursday?)
After Lucy's closed, she even hung out for the obligatory "holy shit, we're drunk" slice before heading back to BK. So awesome to see you, Kusum! Don't be a stranger!
The entire time we were eating it, we were wondering why it tasted so bacony. The mystery was solved when I lifted up my cheese and found....a piece of bacon! Gross! (I think they also must've used bacon fat or something in the dough). Fucking, Texas.
When we landed in Houston we were STARVING so we decided to grab a quick airport slice before getting our rental car and driving into town. The pizza we got was the greasiest, heaviest pizza I've ever eaten. Check out Meredith holding her stomach. If you put your ear near your monitor, you can actually hear her softly groaning.
If you live in NYC and you like pizza, go to L'asso right now. Seriously, check out these fucking pies. Unbelievable. It's one of my favorite restaurants in New York (and the prices are awesomely reasonable).
As we were about to hit the road, Mike was going through his wallet and found the piece of paper with my phone number on it that prompted him to originally call me and invite me to come teach in Korea (with less than two days notice) after one of the teachers that was scheduled to come had backed out.
On the way back towards my place I made them stop and get some slices, hoping it'd help soak up some of the alcohol (and anti-freeze) that was in their systems.
