...and Leigh (seen here doing her best Coldstare! Icy!) was there with her brand new dappled daschund puppy Edie! Look at her teeny, tiny little weiner body! Go ahead: Awwwwwww!
When we finally arrived at the hotel, it looked like a scene rap music video. Every where you looked there were huge SUVs tinted out, slammed and riding on 24s. And there were all sorts of thugged out dudes walking around with tons of jewelry and gold fronts. Turns out the hotel was hosting two events that weekend: Tara's Wedding and some HUGE dirty-South hip-hop DJ convention! Hahaha. I can't believe I didn't take more photos. Here's Meredith showing off one of the 6 or 7 CDs she was handed in the 20 yard walk from the car to the hotel. We checked into our room, dropped off our bags...
And we're off! If I remember correctly, it was like a ninety-minute drive from the airport to the hotel where Tara and Greg's wedding was taking place.
Grant was so distracted, that he eventually just ended up inviting the guy up on stage. Things got even weirder when he produced a Minnie Mouse hand puppet from out of thin air.
I ended up meeting up with Mikie (who used to live in Japan but has since moved to NYC) and we all left the party to go dancing at MisShapes. Mikie ended up bringing some douchetard along with her from the party who refused to take off his blue-tinted aviator glasses.
So fresh and so clean! After Sarah and Josh had recovered from the trauma my nizzuts had inflicted, we hopped into a cab and headed over to Stubb's for...
Karen. Ha-ha-hungover! After we finished eating, we decided to head over to the costume store on 4th Ave so the girls could buy cheerleading outfits. Later on in the week they were hosting a "Pre-SXSW Pep Rally" and wanted to make sure they'd be dressed accordingly.
After lunch we hopped in my car and headed north to check out the Fisherman's Wharf area. Where there are all sorts of hot tourist attractions like the world famous...
Even after seeing it a bunch of times, the views are so beautiful that it literally makes you go "Whooooooa!" every time you see it. I managed to snap this pic of Mer mid-gasp.
....SHAZAM! San Francisco Brian is here! "Seriously, you should wear that on the plane out there. People will totally think you're a native that was just visiting NYC. You look great. You're totally going to fit in out there!"
Three bozos. Grant, Fatty and me arriving at the reception in CT. (Note the accidental irony in Fatty doing the "L is for Loser" handsign backwards. Hahah).
Now this is usually where Grant would take out his nuts and try to put them near my face...lucky for me, his vanity got the best of him and he instead took my camera and used it to take pictures of himself making "sexy faces."
...two dogs wearing sunglasses. When I saw them I started hysterically laughing and petting them and their owner got all huffy. "It's not funny!" She chided, "They have cataracts!" I was like "Lady, I'm not laughing at their cataracts...I'm laughing at THEIR SUNGLASSES!" Their ornery owner aside, these pooches made my day.
Despite only getting a few hours of sleep, we managed to pick up the van and be heading beachward before noon. Here's me, Meredith, Grant, Rachel and David and Miye in the back! Rented van, wooooooo!
On Saturday afternoon we were going to go to the beach but then it got cloudy. So instead, we just took pictures of my roommate's "beach hat" that Leigh had planned on borrowing for the day.
We woke up early on Saturday morning, thought about skiing for a half-day, but when Fatty informed us that his pulled muscle still really hurt, it was the only excuse we needed to reset the alarm for noon and go back to sleep. We made it into the car a little before 1pm and started driving to Boston for Seth's surprise party.
Check out my blinging imitation Oakley Blades. You're wet, aren't you? (PS - Sarah pointed out that my dad looks like the dad from the Family Guy and I haven't been able to look at him without smiling since).
Fast forward several hours later: After we'd finished loading up all of Liz's stuff into the truck (Frank's was already in there), Frank, Fatty and Liz drove the truck over to their new apartment. There being no room in the truck, and their new apartment only a short distance away, we decided to walk over. We were making pretty good time until...
A few days after the party, Jenny Penny posted pics of the party on her website and inadvertantly identified her butt-ass wasted friend as the clown who most likely kifed my fucking shades.
So remember how I said these weren't no pussy horses? As soon as we got them on the open trail, they all started galloping. That's right: not a trot, not a canter, a full-on fucking gallop. Holy shit, I almost did something in my pants that would've put Dashiell to shame. Here's a pic Grant managed to take of me right as we all finally managed to slow them down.
I totally forgot to mention that the temperature had dropped sharply from the previous day and was in the low 50s, which might not sound too cold, but when you're riding a scooter at 50mph with no gloves, it's almost unbearable. Here's me using the exaust to defrost my frozen lil' phalanges.
Our bellies full of warm doughnut, we hit the open road. We decided to take a 45 km backroads trip to check out the bad-ass Arkadi Monastery and then from there, if we had enough light, ride another 25 km and check out the Melidoni Caves.
Grant proudly displays his can of "Master Cafe" iced coffee drink. Any time a beverage features a tractor trailer on it, you KNOW it's going to motherfucking kickstart your heart.
After a few aspirin and several liters of water *whew*, we hopped in the car and drove out to Ross & Jordana's house in the valley where we also met up with Emma Taylor and Lorelei Sharkey who were in LA for two days as part of their book tour.
