tagged together in 123 photos meredith + food Wednesday night Meredith came over for a hang and an burrito. On Wednesday afternoon I met up with Meredith for a veggie lunch... Man of Kent takeout dinner is a cabin staple. On Friday night Meredith and Gurj came over! We had dinner at my place... I set up my new tripod and played around with my new remote trigger. Meredith & Gurj came over and we feasted on Organic Grill. Came back to my place afterwards and had a vegetarian feast from Superiority Burger! Happy birthday, Mer! We ordered dinner in... So many lasagnas. ...we got a sandwichy feast from Tiny's Giant Sandwich Shop. Mmmm. Later that evening, I walked over to Hans & Ellen's in the East Village for a big holiday feast! Check out the table spread! On Saturday afternoon I met up with Meredith in Chinatown for veggie dim sum! When you drink from the little tea cups there, it makes you look like a little piggy! Puebla is awesome. Two and a half hours into the drive, we stopped at a diner up 87. That evening Ellen came over to join us for the Mad Men season finale and Grant's puttanesca pasta with garlic bread and salad. We had just enough time at Narita to grab a sandwich. We went into town and had a late dinner on the beach with Bertl & Fraggle. Haha. The food was sooo good! Mango and cheese salad to start... About the best you can do as a vegetarian in the Philippines! Later that evening, we went out for a late night dinner on the strip. Getting our airport Chinese on. There was a very happy Seamless mix-up and we somehow ended up with both Thai food and Curly's for lunch. FEAST! Our crew pretty much took over the porch. Mer and I stopped off and got ourselves a nice light dinner. Halo view. We went to a Thai place at some huge, open air mall. Healthy lunch with Mer and 7B and later in the evening... Afterwards, we came back in to get something to eat... FRIED DOUGH! ...and ordered so much food. Veggie burgers at Royale! So granola. Went to Gruppo for a pineapple & jalapeno pie! Other side of the table. Manhattan kitchen table. After we got back from our New Year's Eve trip down in Florida , Gurj came over on Wednesday night for a hang. Quiet night at home After we got back, we had pancakes! Got another small set in the afternoon, then lunch! ...on the way to Quantum Leap in the East Village for lunch. The next morning we went to a diner that that all sorts of crazy veggie options. BON APPETITE! Two men were arguing loudly the entire time it took us to eat our falafels. AWKWARD! Salad dinner! Me taking pictures of Meredith eating = asking to be punched in the nose. On Friday morning we went to Life Cafe (RIP) for an awesome sidewalk brunch. Stopped at Hot N Crusty (the unfortunate actual name of the restaurant/bodega) and got a pizza bagel before getting on the L! Pacman croissant. Meredith was pretty excited about her fruit-covered pancakes. Haha. Saturday was a beautiful spring day so we walked around the neighborhood and found a brand new place on 4th Street to get brunch. Satisfied brunch customer. ...some delicious La Guardia airport Chinese food! On Friday night, Meredith and I had a spooky night at home enjoying some Curly's Vegetarian Lunch (mmmmm).... Meredith made an awesome lunch. We were also there because Meredith parents were throwing us a big "congratulations on getting married" party (that was really just the wedding reception Meredith's mom didn't get to have because we got married somewhere else. (Remember when I made fun of Frank when his mom did the same thing?) On Saturday we had a nice homemade meal... Later that night, we went to a really awesome vegetarian restaurant. ...and then had an awesome lunch at an Indian restaurant nearby. People in Bali are super-friendly and any time a local found out we were on our honeymoon they were so excited for us. It was really great. We decided to order some food and look for a place to stay after eating. After getting our next destination all squared away, it was time to enjoy a breakfast feast! ...then at 9am, we went to check out the hotel's insane breakfast spread. Mer was feeling lunchtimey and got some lo mein. We got some food to go along with our champagne. Mer got veggie sushi... Taco-tastic. Later that afternoon we went to Alphabet Cafe (formerly known as DyNASTY!) for brunch. Their black-bean quesadilla is the jam. AND mini pizza bits. It's just how I do. Mer got veggie sushi. Afternoon BBQ! Plus the waitress took this nice photo of us. So good. Holy pile of fried appetizer. On Wednesday night we met up with Dave and Marina and headed over to Meredith's parent's apartment in order to celebrate Pesach ! We had a nice dinner at home and spent the night making plans to receive our first "real" pet! (Sorry, rats.) Holiday lunch in Florida! About and hour later we pulled over and got our Denny's on. Mer got pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns AND a biscuit! Haha. Holy shit. Aw yeah, room service breakfast! After, Meredith and I went down the street for a delicious pizza dinner at L'asso. Yum. Check out the insane dim sum feast! Man, do I love this place. I love this pic. Us about to dig into our Fried-tastic Feast! On Saturday Meredith and I went to Gruppo and HOUSED one of their amazing pizzas. I don't usually like thin-crust pizza, but for whatever reason, I love theirs. Easily my favorite pizza place in the East Village! ...which meant that her entire purse was filled with buffet food. I love this photo so much. I'm not sure how you kicked off your 2008, but we kicked off our 2008 with a whole shit-ton of delicious Thai food for breakfast! Awwww, yeah! After get our spread set up... Meredith didn't even bother to use utensils! Woooooo! I think Meredith was a fan too. (Blueberry pancakes made from blueberry muffin mix = AWESOME). Meredith got PIZZA FRIES! MMMMMM. After, Kate and Siege took us all out for pizza and beers for helping with the schlepping. Mmmmmm, pizza. Mmmmmm, beer. For dinner, we went to an Italian place to prepare our taste buds for home. After checking in and catching a quick nap, we headed over to Mai Kaidee's for some lunch. Here's the bananas and black rice covered in coconut milk that we got for dessert! Yum! I got back from my trip around 1pm and met up with Meredith. We walked down the road and go some lunch at a sleepy Thai restaurant. After getting our accommodations all set, we hit a nearby restaurant for a late lunch and a few tropical drinks! Meredith went with the nacho platter... So we went to Burger King and got veggie burgers! (The veggie burgers at BK in Thailand are amazing - they're like giant falafel patties!) ...and over-the-top lunch at an Israeli restaurant (check out that spread!), we decided to hobble our bloated bellies over to the beach for some sun! Seriously. Mar. Vel. Ous. After the movie, we went back to the vegetarian restaurant we'd eaten at the previous afternoon and had ourselves another epic feast for less than $2 USD. Man, was that place tasty. Phuket is famous for its vegetarian food! As soon as we'd finished dropped off our bags and freshening up, we headed out to get our veggie lunch on at one of the many local restaurants reviewed in our guide book. Mmmmmmm! They're delicious!
