It's nice to have a family that's not my family! ...Siege & Katie's for a little friend Thanksgiving dinner! On Monday evening I biked down to the edge of Chinatown to have dinner at Grant's new apartment with Katie & Clayton. On Tuesday night Grant and I went out to Williamsburg to hang with Clayton and Katie. After dinner, she and I walked over to Amanda's apartment for a TV premiere party! Grant had recently done a bunch of talking-head interviews for a new History Channel TV series called "How Sex Changed the World"... Allergic to nutrients! (Katie's face in the background makes me laugh out loud every time I look. Hahahaha.) On Wednesday night I went out to Clayton & Katie's place. Katie made juice with her juicer and Siege agreed, reluctantly , to drink some. Wincing and chugging! Later that evening I met up with Caiti and we went over to Cynthia's for a birthday taco party! On Thursday evening, a bunch of us got together to see... Late night snacking in front of the fire. Just as we were finishing up, Siege, Katie, Cynthia and Amanda arrived! Later that evening, we went to a gallery opening in the Lower East Side to see some of Clayton's art work. On the way out we ran into Spencer Tunick (who took a naked group portrait at Emma's birthday party in the Chinatown loft way back in 2003 ! After the reading, we adjourned around the corner to Milady's (RIP!) for drinks! Make a wish! Piled so high! ...with a huge platter of birthday doughnuts for Katie! And then before we got our game on, Cynthia briefly disappeared and then made a grand entrance... Party posse. ...you all are way more fun than Skyrim! Later that night we went over to vBar for Carol's going away party! Such a fun crowd. Discussing how to split up our friends into teams. Katie & Siege. :) Chimping! I returned to the living room to tell everyone about Chat Roulette and found out the Saints had won the Superbowl. Pizza! No talk. Eat. One final toast to Katie's birthday! Yay! Haha. Siege had taken Katie to rent a video down the street and on the walk home he proposed they stop into a bar... 4:30am last of the party! Thanks so much for hosting my party, guys. I had a wonderful time! On the way up to the roof, I found these four huddled around Siege's computer screens laughing and smiling. Returning the van. We got our van all packed up and decided to catch a couple morning rays before heading over to Denny's (yep, Denny's again less than 8 hours later) for the post-wedding brunch. A little before one, we decided to head out... ...got stuck with all these jokers. ;) Shooting, kissing and crying! A great wedding wedding elicits a wide array of responses. All dressed up! We loaded up the family party van... The drive up was quicker than we expected leaving us with some time to catch a little sun and swim before the wedding. ...rent a van and drive up to the wedding together! Roadtrip! ...Ellen, Katie, Siege... Surprise! We totally caught her off-guard. It took her ten whole seconds to process the surprise. Cynthia, Siege and KT. As people got drunker, they worked up the courage to try the hula hooping game in Wii Fitness. Missy gets ready to wiggle her middle. Siege and KT. A couple days after the party, we all received an email from him with a link to a surprise video he'd edited together with all the clandestine hula hooping video he'd shot. It. Is. Amazing. My favorite part is the highlight reel of everyone throwing their hands up and leaning that starts around the 1:45 minute mark (right after Siege does the "white man's overbite") and just keeps getting better. (PS - Make sure you check out Ellen's sideways "tit-sway" at 2:14. Amazing.) More like Nap Pursuit! Look how SNEEPY everyone is! Happy birthday, Amanda! Then a couple songs later, Meredith, KT and Siege joined the party and we all nerded out together. Just cuz you're getting married doesn't mean you gotta grow up or anything! Thanks to everyone for keeping the surprise a secret and for coming out to help me surprise Meredith! It meant so much to have so many people we love be there to share that huge moment in our lives! A little after 7pm, we thanked Sarah for her hospitality and then all piled into Sarah's elevator to head out. Fatty, Sarah, Cat, Siege and KT. Amanda, KT and Siege.
