On Saturday, I was finally feeling better enough to leave the house and Grant took me out to Odessa breakfast to celebrate Yodle finally getting sold (after waiting for four nail-biting years!)
But quickly devolves into karaoke where you can just name a song and the band will look up the chords (or Frank probably already knows them and will just shout out the changes!)
Conversational highlight of the night came up after I matched with a pretty girl on Tinder who mentioned she was trans in her profile. Grant: "What kind of trans are you down with? Pre or post op? I replied probably post-op. Grant chided me for being so provincial, "Post-op? Psssshhh. That's just a chick dude. You're so vanilla." Haha.
...and there's something on the screen that they don't want you to see (or in this case, immediately take photos of!). Careful, y'all - I'm mighty quick on the draw with my camera! Turns out, it wasn't anything to be embarrassed about...
On Tuesday Lizzy came over to my apartment and we spent the afternoon going through lots of my photos for a book she was working on about the NYC rock scene in the 00s. (The book, Meet Me in the Bathroom, was released in late 2017 and featured five of my photos!). Congrats, Lizzy!
I met up with Grant and his friend Leanne who was visiting from Vancouver. Before the beach, we decided to start off with a ride on the Thunderbolt! Coney Island's new rollercoaster that's...
Later in the afternoon I met up with Grant in East River Park and I we tried out the slackline I purchased in a location where we hoped we wouldn't be seen!
Grant returned from his trip to Argentina and stopped by my place bright and early on Tuesday morning. He was crashing in my extra room for a few days until his apartment that he'd rented was free.
