me
6am.

Q: What's got four thumbs and loves instigation? A: THESE GUYS!
me
I think that's the face I make when I sing GnR.
me
Fatty, me and Mer in the back.
me
Me, Siege and Jen.
me
Maybe we just need to get pants that are more see-through?
me
Scott and I did our best to try to rep for team "Man Ass," but it just wasn't the same.
me
I peeled the label off a bottle of champagne and announced that I was going to try to use a knife to "saber" the bottle (cut the top off of it!). Grant taught me how to do it back in July of 2006, and it's been my go-to "party trick" ever since! Right as I was warming up, Amanda said that she wanted to try doing it!
me
Me and Mer.
me
A little before midnight, everyone left whatever little corner of the party they were in and headed to the main room to bring in the New Year together. Me and Cyn.
A couple days after the party, we all received an email from him with a link to a surprise video he'd edited together with all the clandestine hula hooping video he'd shot. It. Is. Amazing. My favorite part is the highlight reel of everyone throwing their hands up and leaning that starts around the 1:45 minute mark (right after Siege does the "white man's overbite") and just keeps getting better. (PS - Make sure you check out Ellen's sideways "tit-sway" at 2:14. Amazing.)
me
First video chat! Leigh looks like Snow White.
me
While we were waiting for the guy to drop off Leigh's new keys, Karen arrived.
me
On Saturday I got my suit back from the dry cleaner. The ties I'd dropped off were returned to me in a bag that looked like they had custom illustrated just for me.
me
Happy Holidays from your crazy neighbor.
me
Outliers, Sway and RAGNAR'S URBAN SURVIVAL: A Hard-Times Guide to Staying Alive in the City. Hahaha.
me
The books Meredith selected for me were all bulls-eyes: Fifty Places to Dive Before You Die.
me
Getting a smooch in the arms of a pelican...
me
...and took the golf cart out onto the empty course for some eagerly anticipated High-Speed Drunk Driving on the Totally Empty Golf Course (highly recommended, btw) and watched the sunset. Haha. Yay, Christmas in Florida!
me
I rolled out of bed a little past noon and headed out to play "Christmas Golf" with my parents. Haha.
me
In love with my stocking loot.
me
Yep, this about sums it up. Haha. I can't believe I didn't even have to put on a collared shirt.
me
Working my irons.
me
Warming up. This is my trying to touch my toes. Pah-thetic.
me
See? Like, what is this even? There was a bush that was filled with these guys. They were like soft sea urchins that smelled nice.
me
Me and Mer. I love how you can tell that Mer's eyes are still focused on my dad's mustache. Hahaha.
me
Up, up and away! See ya later, Yankee winter!
me
...and lots and lots of books.
me
...."B" belt....
me
Other gifts included at bottle cap tripod...
me
I love NY rat-shirt!
me
Then back at home Meredith and I exchanged presents.
me
On Sunday night Meredith and I went to her parent's house to celebrate Hanukah! Here we are with her parents and some family friends.
me
Court and me!
me
Later that night I went over to Leigh's. Here's me playing Edie like she's a guitar.
me
Friends!
me
Edie's favorite place to sit is a person's chest.
me
Hahaha.
me
You gotta crouch just right.
me
So serious.
me
I'm pretty much phoning it in here, but the fact that my eyes are facing in directions almost ninety degrees apart has got to count for something.
me
Me and Amander.
me
Crazy-Face Me and Big-Mouth Leigh
me
This is the expression of a man who drove 500 miles and then OD'ed on tacos.
me
You can put the cruise control on, light up a smoke...
me
I picked up some new sunglasses so I didn't have to keep stealing Meredith's (because she is also very squinty in the sun without them!).
me
I lost my sunglasses and had to borrow Meredith's because the sun was bright and it's hard for me to drive without them (I get so squinty).
me
I've never had a bad time with this guy. Not once.
me
...to meet up with Michael...
me
Brett, Amy and me saying goodbye at the hotel.
me
My cousin Jay is the half-Indian version of me!
me
Family photo.
me
The ride back down. Hahah.
me
On Wednesday night I went over to the new New Museum on Bowery for some art opening party that Leigh was hosting. There was a huge line around the block outside, but baby girl came downstairs and escorted me in. Awww, fwiends. On the elevator ride up to the top floor, we made faces in the mirror behind the crowd.
me
On Saturday night Jenny and Gurj came over...
me
Relieved.
me
Cleaning out the basement took a long time because every time I'd open a box to play "toss or save," there'd be a million interesting treasures inside! Like my dad's old fencing helmet from college!
me
My dad's parents, Hank and Connie Battjer, with my cousins Chris and Steve. The one on the bottom is me blowing out birthday candles with my cousin Chris watching (and looking like a bug).
me
Also found a bunch of fantastic old photo albums. I snapped a couple of pics of my favorite pics. Here me with my parents and brother. I think this was from my 5th birthday - which would make it August 1981.
me
Hahaha. Chris and me are swashbuckling corsairs.
me
Hahaha. I love this photo. Me, Mer and Millie show off our see no, hear no speak no evil TRIO.
me
Yay, Jen!
me
Practicing our photo booth faces.
me
Haha.
me
Me (and my crazy chin), Meredith, Kara and Billy.
me
Billy and me.
me
Mer and I (in our terrible $3 sunglasses from St. Marks) getting ready to go in.
me
Faces like this.
me
The next sequence of photos does a fairly awesome job of summarizing what happens pretty much every time I attend a wedding. Oh yes, there will be dancing.
me
Dance floor sing-a-longs?
me
Culminating with me convincing the band to let me sing a couple of songs.
me
Saturday night comradery.
me
Later that night we headed over to the Sly Fox for some quiet Saturday night action!
me
I tried on sunglasses that made me look like Terry Richardson.
me
WAKE UP! (This photo makes me LOL).
me
Me!
me
Lisa and me.
me
Later that night we went across the street to visit Greg who was djing at Bowery Electric. We brought along a sprouty lil' bulb of garlic that we found in Leigh's fridge. He was sorta steenky!
me
Besides, what kind of moron walks around in a bright blue t-shirt anyway?
me
Kate Hill was in town! I hadn't seen her in years. We went out and caught up and then decided to go sing some karaoke at 2am.
me
Oh, summer.
me
After the BBQ, I went over to 3A to play some Guitar Hero and hang out!
me
Yep, if I'm cleaning it up and Meredith's taking photos of me cleaning it up it was definitely my fault. Hahah.
me
After getting back into Manhattan we stopped at our favorite Japanese restaurant to try to improve our mood with a tasty meal. I also tried to entertain Meredith with my "orange glasses."
me
Here's the not-so-happy us. As a bonus, I also accidentally left my Kindle on the bus. :(
me
Oh man, I look like a nightmare a clown would have.
me
Ray, me and Simon.
me
Later that night I met up with Rachael for a late dinner at Curly's Lunch! Yum!
me
I also has a sunburn. Ow.
me
I have sweepy beach hair and Meredith has monkey bangs!
me
Check out the insane dim sum feast! Man, do I love this place.
me
Nugget Buddies!
me
I laughed so hard I was crying.
me
Awwww, me and my favorite NJ-ladies! In order to show some home-state pride, we decided that we were going to try to spell out N.J. with our bodies. After that not working at all...
me
Take two: NAILED IT! (Apparently nailing it also required some pretty serious Blue Steel action from me and Leigh).
me
...we asked ourselves what we could spell out with three letters to represent NJ. How about EWR? (Newark's airport code!). Hahaha. We reviewed this photo and decided that while Sarah nailed her "E," Leigh and I definitely needed to tighten up our sloppy WR situation.
me
Buddies.
me
I think this girl was one of Jenne's friends.
me
...so I went and met up with Leigh and we headed across the street from her apartment to Bowery Electric...
me
Me, Leigh and Sarah. I love these two so much!
