Here's me and Josh surprising Geoff by showing up at his bday party! (Which he liked a lot better than the totally awesome birthday surprise Newman and I cooked up for him back in 1999!) Hahaha.
Geordon and me. (I really need to work on my "sexy" face because I always end up looking like some kind of gomer when I photographed next to pouty-Pete here).
An hour or two later, we figured that Misshapes had probably cleared out a bit and decided to head back across the street to check it out. As I was crossing the street, Tinny spotted us all coming out of Movida ("TRAITORS!!!!") and attacked!
Here's a pic (stolen from Dens!) of us on the coaster! This was the ride where Dennis discovered he wasn't a huge fan of roller coasters! (The three of us all have our arms in the air and he's holding on for dear life).
And then I huge around for a bit so I could meet up with Lisa Carver! I know Lisa from back when she used to write a column for Nerve (and from when we used to take road trips up to NH to visit her!). Anyway, Lisa wrote an awesome memoir about her totally insane life (touring with GG Allin, getting married to Boyd Rice, one of the senior dudes in Anton LeVey's Church of Satan) called "Drugs Are Nice" and was in NYC to do a reading from it! Something I wouldn't have missed for the world! Here's me and Lis (and her book!).
Warning: There are a few pics coming up that are definitely NSFW! So if you work at a place were pictures of naked people urinating on each other isn't cool, you might want to scroll past the next few photos reeeeeal quickly.
As long time readers of this site know, I have a ton of bizarro-lookalikes: but the one that cracks my friends up the most, is the fact that I look quite a bit like Ellen DeGeneres. I was watching her comedy special and paused and thought I'd captured quite a likeness so I took this pic to immortalize it. Hahah.
This was also the night that I got to meet the very wonderful David Caggiari! David was in town from the UK with his even prettier (if you can believe that) girlfriend Kim and the rest of the guys from his band, Apartment! David and Kim were going to be staying with Niki and I and the rest of the band would all be crashing over at Sarah's apartment (in my old room there!). Here's David and I pulling our best sexy faces, because, in case you hadn't yet noticed, the theme of this night was "sexy." (I put that word in italics with the hopes that you'd read it in a whispery voice).
Here's me testing out a chair. (Check out that sweet peek-a-boo panty action down my right leg. *ROWR* That's a bonus for all you ladies out there! You're Welcome!)
On Saturday morning Mer and I got up bright and early and took the A train out to Rockaway Beach! Fuck the Broadchannel shuttle transfer to the 118th St. Beach! We stayed on the A all the way out to 60th Street and go to the (sorta sketchy, but always totally empty) beach out there in the middle of nowhere.
Here's Meredith giving a look to the camera that says "I like you enough to buy you a belated b-day cake, but I'm still not quite sure if you're boyfriend material, Disappearo!"
...and then 11.5 hours later, we were back in LA! We hung out for a bit at LAX on our layover, then said our goodbyes! Mike went off to hang out in LA for a few days, Andy went and caught his flight up to San Francisco and then I hopped on a plane and...
There were hurricane (typhoon) warnings that night and the wind was so strong out on the balcony that we were able to lean back into it was all of our weight and it would temporarily prop you up for a second or two. (The wind also apparently caused us to make awesome faces).
Then back at the hotel, we kidnapped some girl's stuffed koala bear that she carried around with her everywhere (I don't even remember whose it was) and took scary, "I'm a ninja holding your bear for ransom" photos. In the end, she couldn't come up with the scratch so we had to...
The flight from San Francisco arrived, and when Micheal was at the baggage carousel about to grab his bag, I snuck up behind him and was like "Excuse me sir, I think that's my suitcase!" He turned around to explain that it was his, and then there was like a 10 second pause while his brain tried to reconcile seeing an unexpected friend that lives in New York standing at the baggage claim in Korea with him. He was like "Holy, coincidence! What the heck are YOU doing here?" I was like "I'm teaching English with you and Mike! Surprise!" Hahahah. Here's us on the bus, heading to our first camp.
Um, yeah. Then apparently I dressed up in a pair of Leigh's (??) jeans and a vest that Mayim Bialik must have left at the apartment that time she stopped by to hang out after she'd finished a taping of Blossom.
Then Sean busted out his camera and took one of Leigh, me and Nina jumping. Leigh was determined to look as serene as possible and not pull any funny faces. She succeeded almost too well.
Which I tried to fight by turning my shirt into a head scarf (something I learned how to do from the roofers when I used to frame houses back in college). Slick, right? (By the way, they totally wouldn't let me on a plane with this).
Later that night we went to Orchard Bar for Sarah and Karen's party. (Hey, when are you guys gonna pick a new venue and restart that shit. Spring's gonna be here soon and there aren't any fun weeknight parties).
Remember how earlier on I mentioned that Corey Feldman had moved into the apartment 3D, just a few doors down us? I totally wasn't kidding! Sarah made friends with him in the hallway and he totally invited our apartment to attend his upcoming birthday party.
Earlier in the week I'd gotten a call from a headhunter about a job opening at a social networking company and on Friday I put on my suit (which is actually the suit I got go to a dance my sophomore year in high school that still fits perfectly...hahahah) and went in to Community Connect for an interview (I'll save you the suspense, I got the job).
