We got into an elevator at the Tribeca Grand and the doors closed before we spotted...
best
Party people elevator, part one (the good part). 2:45am.
best
Yes!
best
Ellen's hairy upper lip is so creepertastic.
best
Whoa.
best
Check out that grill, dawg! Hahaha. Soooo good.
best
Giving kisses.
best
Hahaha. Oh man, photos of these two together make me laugh every single time.
best
Peter and I celebrating our matching outfits. (What time is it? BUDDY TIME!)
best
Owww-ooooooo!
best
Karen showing off her tshirt from back when Justin Timberlake was in NSync (and looked like a butchy lesbian).
best
Sun setting behind the Hudson from the train platform.
best
She likes to watch stuff go past.
best
On Sunday I hung out with Dr. Jenkins...
best
...and then we all yelled SURPRISE!
best
Hey!
best
Skull face is dying (for now).
best
I love this photo! We took a cab to...
best
I like dressing up, but I don't really like all the planning and buying stuff that's involved in dressing up. So more often than not, I'll revert to a last-minute halloween costume with whatever's lying around.
best
After I finished borrowing Ellen's eyeliner, she touched up her slutty 80s rocker make up!
best
Halloween Family Portrait! It took forever to get a photo of Maddy looking towards the camera because in between shots...
best
Maddy had a matching skeleton outfit. Awwwww, skull guy and skeledog!
best
Best year yet!
best
If you look at this photo closely, you'll notice that Har Mar's treating some front-row "super fan" to the "ultimate" live experience . Haha.
best
...that's the marking for where he does a god damned NECK STAND. I would have been impressed by this alone, never mind that fact that HarMar was singing a song (and killing it) the whole time.
best
...and regularly SLAYS crowds.
best
I think Dana really captured her dog nature!
best
We made it in the air just in time to watch the last of the sunlight break through the clouds and bathe NYC in peach light.
best
And an extra special thanks to Scott & Leigh! In addition to pulling dance moves like this all night, they also shot tons of footage and interviews of the party...
best
After the team had proven their trustworthiness, we grabbed Joann! Ready for a ride?
best
Get her up there! (I love how Ellen's part of the hoisting team!)
best
Who, little old me?
best
(Actual re-enactment.)
best
Towards the end of the night, someone had the genius idea to recreate Meredith's fall from the chair earlier in the evening. Haha. I love how Fatty's reaching in to lend a hand.
best
Ta-da!
best
Scott busted out some crazy-ass Footloose moves and started swinging Leigh around! (Steve's expression in the background is great.)
best
Feel pretty lucky to know these two.
best
Hahaha.
best
These two are pretty okay also.
best
Scott attacked Matt with a vicious shimmy.
best
Matt WORMED his way out!
best
Me vs. Mer!
best
Oh, it's because my mom must've walked out! Hahah.
best
All growsed up.
best
Oh man, I love this photo.
best
Leigh and Scott.
best
Me and Matt!
best
Mer's moves! (PS - Still drinking double-scotches!)
best
Leigh!
best
If not for our last-minute guests, the party would've definitely been over! We had the dance floor for another whole hour.
best
Yep, they dropped my wife! Action shot of Mer on her way down! (Steve's face is priceless.)
best
Love this guy.
best
...we ended up with an ALL-STAR party crew! I love this photo.
best
Hahaha. Yep, on our way.
best
Me and Mer (we both ended up getting sooooo drunk).
best
Matt, Mandy, Ellen and Amanda!
best
Me and grandma!
best
Mer and her dad outside the MOMA after dinner.
...this AMAZING video she edited together for us. It's one of the best gifts I've ever gotten! I smile ear to ear every single time I watch it. It's set to one of my favorite songs of all time (Jump in the Line by Harry Belafonte) and all the edits are INSANELY TIMED to the lyrics! It's SOOOOO GOOD! BTW: The auteur herself makes only a brief, hidden appearance at 2:59. (You can see her blue-painted fingernails reaching out to accept a VDC from the bartender. Haha.)
best
...because he and Matt were dressed exactly like with matching haircuts and everything. (They're giving Vin & Marco back in their hey-day a run for their money)
best
Later that night I went to Cabin to meet with these three all-newly-single gentlemen. They unleashed so much handsomeness upon the bar...
best
We're trying to train Maddy to stay out of the bed but it's really difficult because our bed is really low to the ground (and because she is really adorable). So ended our first month as married folks!
best
Wiener dogs make excellent neck scarves.
best
The cold Meredith had been fighting since we got home finally caught up with her. She had such terrible chills that she needed to wear my fur hat in bed. Look at that tan! I've never seen such a pretty sick lady!
best
...these bad ones. Hahah. I like how the smoke in the (no smoking!) sign looks like it's coming from Scott's cigarette.
best
Leigh explained this to us and then demonstrated. "See? Stackable hounds!" Hahaha.
best
Married folks!
best
Bye, Bali!
best
For our last night in Bali, we went to the Ubud Palace to see the Royal Gamelan Orchestra! "A gamelan is a musical ensemble from Indonesia, typically from the islands of Bali or Java, featuring a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, drums and gongs; bamboo flutes, bowed and plucked strings."
best
A little before 10am and we were hiking through the fields on our way...
best
The sun burning up the dewy fields. The reason we'd gotten up so early is because we'd decided to go...
best
On Saturday morning we woke up to the sound of someone hitting the tiny gong at our weird mini-palace gates! I went out to investigate and it was the hotel staff setting up the 8am breakfast we'd ordered the night before out on the little island thingy in our pool!
best
One more for the road.
best
Here's us with our awesome tour guide!
best
He wanted to dress us up in traditional Balinese wedding clothes and take our picture!
best
This is a flooded paddy field where rice is grown.
best
After dinner, we ended up going just a few feet down the road and booking a bungalow at Saranam Eco Resort. The hotel's front desk is right off the road at the top of a mountain. In order to get down to the bungalows (which are at the BOTTOM of the mountain, you have to get in a little elevator car and a cable-winch slowly lowers the car down a railway laid on the hill.
best
Stump Lives!
best
Oh, yeah. But then they also have forty-foot statues of monkeys attacking a giant, angry (Hindu?) god.
best
Green.
best
...onto a super-narrow local road. Most of the roads that wound up through the mountains were this wide. It doesn't look too scary here, but imagine having a 1,000 foot drop to your left and trying to share it with oncoming trucks whizzing around blind corners.
best
After passing through this gate, we turned off the main northern road, and made a right...
best
NONE SHALL PASS! (The guy at the temple didn't speak any English, put he certainly understood the pantomime for "Hey, wanna pretend we're having a SWORD fight for this photo?" Yes!)
best
The temple was getting ready to close and we were the only visitors! Luckily, there was a temple minder there who's job was to show you around and to help keep the monkeys from getting too aggressive!
best
...he was number one.
best
Hand feeding!
best
REAL MONKEYS! Check out our first customer! Monkey's just so maxed and relaxed! As we got closer to the temple, monkeys were everywhere! We were strolling along the beach holding bags of "monkey treats" that we'd purchased from the locals when suddenly, a large male monkey walked up to us and started reaching up to grab Mer's bag of monkey treats. Meredith tried to play keep away, but the monkey launched himself into the air, landed on her chest, held onto Mer's waist with HIS MONKEY FEET (!!!) and then used his super-monkey-strength to rip the bag of monkey treats out of her hands! TREAT-MUGGED BY A MONKEY!

Right after the mugging, the locals saw us struggling to defend ourselves against a pack of monkeys encroaching on our space intent to steal our second bag of monkey treats and they started waving at us and showing us that we should pantomime like we have rocks to throw or slingshots in our hands and the pantomime totally scared the monkeys away! Good looking out, locals! Thanks!
best
..the sign spun around! Haha.
best
Outside of our room was a carved, wood statue of a woman holding a sign...
best
...and then more carved, wooden doors that opened to an outdoor shower. Complete with a statue of a three-headed dragon...
best
After our swim, we decided to try out the little shaded beds next to the pool.
best
The view from the bed was probably one of the most picturesque views I've ever seen in my life.
best
Anyone know what kind of fish this is? I'd never seen anything like it!
best
Wanna hold this guy?
best
Riding to the second dive location. Check the two volcanos in the background!
best
After I was awoken by a noisy gecko in our room, I went outside to explore the beautiful grounds at the Amertha Bali Villas. It was pretty dark when we'd checked in the previous night and getting to see the resort by daylight was breathtaking. This is the view of our bungalow...
best
The next morning we woke up before 5am and went downstairs to swim in the hotel's gorgeous edgeless pool that's right down near the beach. (Meredith's in the pool, but you can see the ocean right behind her).
best
Do not disturb, please!
best
Mike took this great photo of us with some of the Cathay Pacific flight attendants, then we said goodbye and headed to the gate. Thanks so much for coming out to see us off, Mike!
best
Pretty, right?
