On Saturday afternoon I met up with Meredith in Chinatown for veggie dim sum! When you drink from the little tea cups there, it makes you look like a little piggy!
I was sick for almost a whole week! By Sunday I was feeling better. Meredith came over to hang out and to see Maddy. Someone fell asleep while wearing their hand-hat!
ADULT STUFF! Very thankful that we were able to keep something so terrible relatively-lovely. At one point, Mer said to me "We had a pretty good run, buddy."
Mer came over on Wednesday afternoon so we could go through the 36-page draft of our divorce agreement that our mediator had drafted for us. Afterwards, we looked over at each other's recently-created OKCupid profiles and had a laugh.
Found this collage I gave to Meredith one year for her birthday. This is the kind of thing that's so hard for me to ever get rid of (even though we never hung it up when we were together).
Remember when everyone thought the world was going to end on December 21st, 2012? I arrived back from my lovely trip to Paris late on Friday night and was greeted at the apartment by Meredith & Maddy! Thanks again for watching her while I was away, Mer!
Mer came by after lunch to visit with Maddy and take her to the dog park. Afterwards, we sat down and worked on the terms of separation and divorce. (We decided to work together with a mediator instead of getting divorce lawyers. Much more civil, but required a whole lot of talking on our part).
Thursday was Meredith, Ellen and my third, consecutive day cooped-up in an 8' x 10' room with 3 dogs in Meredith's parent's apartment, after being displaced by Hurricane Sandy! Meredith is laughing because I don't like to eat pumpkin or squash and so now that we'd split up she was reading-up on pumpkin & squash recipes. Hahahah. So good
....celebrate Scott's birthday with tickets to see Louis CK! (Meredith and I were in the weird phase of having to explain to everyone that we'd split up and no longer living together, but that we were still friends and you didn't have to pick a side).
Any time Maddy sees luggage come out, she gets nervous she's going to get left behind and so she tries to make sure she's sitting on one of us at all times.
After coming back from visiting his family late on Sunday night, Doug stayed at our place one last night before heading back to Finland! Saying goodbye to Meredith & Maddy.
